Tony Gardner, born in 1964, is an English actor and doctor.

In 1987, he qualified as a physician at Guy's Hospital and then as a general practitioner in 1993.

As part of Phil Hammond's award-winning comedy pair Struck Off and Die, he combined medicine and comedy from the 1990s. He converted medicine to become an actor, appearing in a number of television commercials, one for the Renault Mégane.

He rose to fame in CITV's My Parents Are Aliens (episodes of which he also wrote) and Michael, the café owner in Jack Dee's BBC sitcom Lead Balloon.

He appeared in three plays directed by Sir Peter Hall from 2009 to 2010.

In 2011, he played Professor Tony Shales in the Channel 4 series Fresh Meat.

He appeared in four series of Halifax's critically acclaimed romantic drama series Last Tango from 2012 to 2016.
