Early life
Riley was born in Maidstone, Kent, England. In 2002, he graduated from the University of Birmingham in Birmingham, England, and in 2005, the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). He founded Article 19 after his undergraduate studies, and when attending the LAMDA, he began performing in The Woman.
Personal life
Riley got engaged to American actress Lizzy Caplan in May 2016. They met in January 2015 while Caplan was filming in London, and made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Prague Opera Ball in February 2016. They were married in September 2017. In 2021, they had a son.
