Thurston Moore Life

Thurston Joseph Moore (born July 25, 1958) is an American musician best known as a member of Sonic Youth.

In addition to directing the Ecstatic Peace, he has been involved in numerous solo and group collaborations outside of Sonic Youth. Record label.

Moore was ranked 34th in Rolling Stone's 2004 list of the "Top Guitarists of All Time." Spin magazine named Moore and his Sonic Youth bandmate Lee Ranaldo together at number 1 in 2012, and the band's first single, "Burroughs," was released as a free download.

Chelsea Light Moving's eponymous debut was announced on March 5, 2013.

Early years

Moore was born in 1950 at Doctors Hospital in Coral Gables, Florida, to George E. Moore, a music researcher, and Eleanor Nann Moore. Frederick Eugene Moore Moore, 1953, and sister Susan Dorothy Moore, 1956) immigrated to Bethel, Connecticut, 1967. He attended St. Joseph's School in Danbury, St. Mary's School in Bethel, and Bethel High School from 1973 to 1976. In fall 1976, he attended Western Connecticut State University but stopped after a quarter and migrated to Aves A and B in New York City to join the burgeoning post-punk and no wave music scene. It was there that he was able to catch Patti Smith's likes and spoken-word performances by William S. Burroughs. The arrival of new bands changed his mind on music, and all of his records were "sort of dumped into the basement." [...] the Sex Pistols and Blondie, as well as Siouxsie and the Banshees were supplanted. It was a whole new world, with a new sense of music that had long been a target for youth culture." In 1980, Gordon Gordon and Kim Gordon moved to an apartment at 84 Eldridge St. below artist Dan Graham, who eventually befriended him, often using records from Graham's collection for mix tapes.

Moore was briefly a member of the hardcore punk band Even Worse, which also includes future Big Takeover editor (and future Springhouse drummer) Jack Rabid. Moore and Lee Ranaldo learned experimental guitar playing in Glenn Branca's "guitar orchestras" after leaving the band. Moore has discussed the influence on his music tastes at this time, including British bands Wire, the Pop Group, the Raincoats, the Slits, and Public Image Ltd ("I used to have these fantasies about leaving New York and heading to London to hang out with Public Image in the 70s."

Personal life

Moore married Sonic Youth bassist/vocalist Kim Gordon on June 9, 1984. Coco Hayley Gordon Moore (born July 1, 1994) is their daughter. Moore and Eva Prinz, a young art book editor who was also married at the time, announced on October 14, 2011 that they were terminating due to an extramarital affair. In 2013, Moore and Gordon divorced. Moore and Prinz were both living in Stoke Newington, London, as of 2017.

GREG ALLAN, a music critic and 'uncool dad,' presents his must-listen albums for 2022

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 20, 2023
This is the third time I've seen one of my Facebook 'best of' music lists published outside of Facebook's social media page, which is exciting for me. My run is a little late this year, but I don't want to disappoint my readers here at the Daily Mail. One of the bands reached out to me after a slew of reader comments from last year's list, which was...cool. I've decided to imbue this piece with a 2023 feel and give you all a look ahead in the world of music this year.
