Thomas Patrick Lennon (born August 9, 1970) is an American actor, comedian, screenwriter, producer, and novelist.

Lieutenant Jim Dangle of MTV's The State is one of the actor's most well-known for his role as Lieutenant Jim Dangle on the Comedy Central series Reno 911. Felix Unger plays Felix Unger in CBS's The Odd Couple.

Lennon is also a prolific screenwriter of several major studio comedies, as well as writing partner Robert Ben Garant.

The Night at the Museum Films, The Pacifier, Balls of Fury, and Baywatch are among the films on display.

Early life

Lennon was born in Oak Park, Illinois, on August 9, 1970. He is the son of Kathleen (McSheehy) and Timothy Lennon, who are of Irish and Scottish descent. In 1988, he graduated from Oak Park and River Forest High School.

He met Kerri Kenney, a friend and potential co-star at Northwestern University's Theatre Camp at the age of 16. The two students then enrolled at New York University, where they formed The New Group, a comedy troupe.

Personal life

Lennon, actor Jenny Robertson, and their son Oliver (born 2009), live in Los Angeles and Wisconsin. He is a huge fan of The Smiths and Morrissey, who appears live with the tribute band "Sweet and Tender Hooligans" as a guitarist.

Although Lennon was a member of The New Group, the comedy troupe changed its name to The State. They appeared on the MTV program You Wrote It, You Watch It as they performed their stuff at theaters and clubs in New York City. This culminated in the self-titled film The State (1993–95), which was nominated for a 1995 Cable Ace Award for Best Comedy Series. The state's 43rd Annual All-Star Halloween Special was created that same year.

Following the demise of The State from MTV and unsuccessful long-term relationships with both ABC and CBS, Lennon, Kenney, Robert Ben Garant, and Michael Ian Black joined Kenney, Robert Ben Garant, and Michael Ian Black to produce and appear in the Comedy Central program Viva Variety (1997–99). The sketch was based on a sketch that Lennon had drawn for the final season of The State, titled "The Mr. and Former Mrs. Laupin Variety Programme." Viva Variety was nominated for Best Comedy Series on Cable Ace in 1997. After Viva Variety, Lennon, Kenney, and Garant designed and appeared in Reno 911, the Reno 911 crew was created and performed. (2003-09) Fels, a German-American explorer. The series was initially planned for Fox but the channel refused to air it because it was too crowded, and the show eventually became available on Comedy Central.

Lennon has appeared in hundreds of television shows, including The League, Children's Hospital, Party Down, New Girl, How I Met Your Mother, Comedy Bang Bang, Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23. On the Friends fifth-season finale ("The One In Vegas"), one of Joey Tribbiani's blackjack-dealing "identical hand twin" was one of his notable guest appearances. Lennon, a producer of the late-night panel game show @midnight, hosted by Hardwick, and appeared on the program 17 times as a panelist/conservant. He has won the show seven times.

In a 2017 television series revival of The Odd Couple starring Felix Unger, who played Oscar Madison, Lennon played Felix Unger. He co-starred as a scientist in Paramount Animation's Monster Trucks in 2016 and began appearing on Fox's Leo Getz, a character previously played on film by Joe Pesci. He appeared in an on-stage sketch parodying Steve Harvey's latest gaffe at the Miss Universe 2015 pageant.

In 2020 and 2021, he has appeared in Supergirl's fifth and sixth seasons as Mr. Mxyzpltk, taking over from Peter Gadiot.

In the seventh season of Reno 911, Lennon reprised his role as Lieutenant Jim Dangle. Quibi was on TV, Quibi was the first one to broadcast. Reno 911, the 2021 film, also appeared in Reno 911. Garant and Lennon wrote a book about writing for film. In 2011, the city of Bantham was in its third row.

In the 2013 film Hell Baby starring Rob Corddry and Leslie Bibb, Garant and Lennon wrote, produced, and starred.
