Career
Together with rappers Kebee, Jerry.K., and several other musicians, The Quiett co-founded indie Korean hip hop record label and talent agency Soul Company in 2004. Music is his first album, released the following year. He released Q Train, his debut, and Supremacy, a tribute to rapper Paloalto. The Real Me album from 2010 went gold, selling 7,000 copies and cementing his fame as one of Korea's most popular indie rappers.
In 2010, the Quiett joined Soul Company to begin a new one.
On January 1, 2011, the Quiett and rapper Dok2 formed Illionaire Records. Rapper Beenzino joined the brand later this year. The record label lasted almost a decade, and they were instrumental in the rise of Korean Hip-Hop in the region.
The Quiett has appeared in numerous Korean hip-hop competitions. He appeared as a judge on the third season of the TV show Me the Money competition Show Me the Money with Dok2 in 2014, finishing first with fellow IKON Bobby. He appeared on Dok2 in his fifth season and Changmo's seventh season. After establishing his own brand Daytona Entertainment, he made two appearances as a judge in High School Rapper in season three and four with Yumdda.
Illionaire Records revealed on Facebook that their record label would stop after ten years of operation on July 6, 2020. The Twitter account as well as the Facebook profile. At the time the company closed, the Quiett was the sole artist signed, though Dok2 and Beenzino left before that year. He released "Bentley 2," which featured Yumdda, Leellamarz, and Sik-K as a tribute to the record company on November 11, 2020.
The Quiett and fellow rapper Yumdda also launched Daytona Entertainment on November 25, 2020. He is the CEO of Ambition Musik, a former Illionaire Records sublabel, but not an artist under the brand.
