Early life

Daniel Hernandez was born in Bushwick, Brooklyn, New York City, on May 8, 1996, to Natividad Perez-Hernandez, a factory worker and house cleaner from Atlixco, Puebla Mexico, and Daniel Hernandez, Sr. from Ro Piedras, Puerto Rico. In 1988, his mother immigrated to the United States to find a better life and opportunities. Hernandez played baseball and soccer as a youth and was drafted to a Major League Soccer team at the age of 13, but his mother died because she did not want her son to be taken at a young age. Hernandez's first name is tattooed on the right side of his head. Hernandez and his older brother, Oscar Osiris Hernandez (born August 25, 1994), were both raised in a church from an early age. Hernandez would sing at mass and was often chosen from the Bible; his favorite passage was Psalm 121. He attended Juan Morel Campos Secondary School and high school for elementary school, and he was a student at Legacy High School from 1959 to 1960. About the tenth grade, he left high school.

Hernandez didn't know his father until he was 9 years old and had only had a brief friendship with him. According to Hernandez's father, Hernandez's mother told him he was dead. Hernandez's father was addicted to heroin and was in jail for five years for selling opioids. In 2010, Hernandez's stepfather was shot dead steps away from the family's house. Hernandez's mother was unable to make enough money to help her children after her stepfather's murder. Hernandez and his brother went to bed without dinner after she applied for assistance, but there were many nights Hernandez and his brother went to bed without dinner. Hernandez and his brother wore used clothing and Hernandez had to share a bed with his mother due to his mother's financial struggles. Hernandez, who suffered from a lot of weight, did not shower or eat to the point where he lost a lot of weight, was hospitalized for depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Hernandez started to act out as a result of his stepfather's death, and he was eventually barred from school in the 8th grade for bad conduct. Rather than continuing his education, he began working at various positions, including being a busboy and a delivery boy at a grocery store to benefit his mother financially.

Personal life

Hernandez can speak Spanish; he performed on three tracks, "Bebe" and "Mala" with Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA in 2018, followed by "Yaya" in 2020. Hernandez suffers from asthma.

Hernandez was born as a Christian. "I pray a lot; I always thank God for good times." In an interview with American radio personality Angie Martinez, he said: "I pray a lot." Whenever there's a positive mood, there's a cell in my brain that says, "Thank you to God." ...I literally prayed every day while walking my dog Titus before I blew up, for a year and a half—400 and something days. Every day, I would pray: Please, please change my life... God, please change my life; I'm a good student. Please help me make a better life. I have a baby, but Pampers can't even buy them; please help me, please make my life a better place, please 'Gummo' has arrived, and life has changed. And then I was like hell, because God is real. I knew if I prayed every day because God is real. "My life has changed" since being a student. Hernandez and Australian pastor Brian Houston conducted a radio interview on The Breakfast Club on March 23, 2018. The pastor held hands with Hernandez and prayed for him; pleading for him to help Hernandez make wise decisions and bless his family.

Hernandez, an 18-year-old girl, had a daughter who was born on October 29, 2015. Sara Molina (born January 17, 1996) was a resident of San Diego, Mexico. Hernandez also has another daughter, Marlayna M., who was born on November 19, 2018.

A few weeks before Hernandez's sentencing to prison, he began dating Jade, whose real name is Rachel Watley. Hernandez's face has been tattooed twice on her body.

Hernandez was reportedly hospitalized after overdose from mixing two Hydroxycut diet tablets with a McDonald's McCafé cup of coffee on October 1, 2020. Since leaving jail, he said he gained more than 200 pounds, but he has said that taking the drug helped him shed 30 pounds since he was released. The overdose charge is denied by his counsel.

Hernandez became the goalkeeper of the Russian media football team GOATS in September 2022.

6IX9INE Career

Music career

Hernandez first began rapping in 2012 after meeting Peter "Righteous P" Rodgers, the founder of New York's Hikari-Ultra, when he first encountered Hernandez, who said he had the look of a rapper and suggested he rapped because of this.

Hernandez began releasing rap albums in 2014, beginning with "69" in August 2014, and "Who the Fuck is You" and "4769" in October 2014, the latter of which was his first collaboration as a lead artist with two rappers from the Brooklyn collective Pro Era, J.A.B. Dirty Sanchez and Irma Sanchez. He released several songs and videos over the next three years, including "Scumlife", "Shinigami" (named after the Japanese death god Shinigami from Death Note), "Yokai" and "Hellsing Station), attracting widespread criticism for his aggressive rapping style and use of anime as music video graphics. FCK THEM, a Slovakia-based music company, released several of his early songs. He adopted the stage name "Tekashi69"; "Tekashi" refers to Japanese anime, which he was a fan of; "69" refers to both the 69 sex position and the yin-yang symbol.

He later became a friend of Righteous P. Hernandez, the younger half-brother of Righteous P. Hernandez, after Hernandez discovered Hernandez that they were going to sign a massive bill involving suspected illegal musicians, the surfacing of misconduct charges against him, and a conflict over suspected stolen instrumentals. Hernandez, a rapper named TrifeDrew who had previously worked with him on music videos, was soon to focus on video games instead of music.

Hernandez appeared on "Poles 1469," a television show from April 2017. Hernandez rose to fame on social media in July 2017 after a Facebook post went viral on both Reddit and Twitter in July 2017. Hernandez's debut single "Gummo" was released on November 10, 2017, and it eventually debuted at number 12 on the US Billboard Hot 100, at number 10. On March 5, 2018, the RIAA declared it platinum. The week of December 23, 2017, his new song, "Kooda," debuted at number 61 on the Hot 100 for the first time. Hernandez's third single, "Keke" by Fetty Wap and A Boogie wit da Hoodie, debuted on January 14, 2018.

Hernandez's debut mixtape, Day69, was revealed shortly afterward. The mixtape was released on February 23, 2018 and debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200 album chart with 55,000 album-equivalent units, of which 20,000 were pure sales. The tape was an extension of the "SoundCloud rap explosion" and was notable for its ability to deviate from hip hop's prevalent sound, according to Jon Caramanica of The New York Times. "Billy" and "Rondo" premiered on the Billboard Hot 100 after the release of Day69, two songs from the album, with "Billy" and "Rondo" debuting at number 50 and "Rondo" at number 73.

Hernandez released "Gotti," a remix of a feature he did for artist Packman called "Got it, Got it." Hernandez's video was released on April 16, 2018 and featured footage of him delivering $100 bills to homeless people in the Dominican Republic's poor people. The song debuted on Day69 as a deluxe song and debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 for the sixth week in a row.

Hernandez sparked controversy in May 2018 when he was involved in a shooting with fellow New York rapper Casanova as part of a feud; this resulted in Hernandez's release of a $5 million headphone contract and his expulsion from the Barclays Center. Hernandez stopped recording for several months after the shooting, before unveiling "Tati," starring DJ Spinking in June, which debuted at number 43 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time in June.

Hernandez's eighth single, "Fefe," starring Nicki Minaj and Murda Beatz, debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 in July 2018, marking Hernandez's highest debut on the charts and his first single to crack the top five of the Hot 100. The Recording Industry Association of America later designated "Fefe" as a double platinum. "Bebe" and "Stoopid," his follow-up singles, also ranked in the top 30 of the Hot 100.

Hernandez signed a publishing contract with Create Music Group, a Los Angeles-based music company.

Hernandez appeared on the French house DJ Vladimir Cauchemar and "Kick" with Danish singer Jimilian in early October 2018. The album, Dummy Boy, was supposed to be released on November 23, but it was revealed on November 21, but the project was postponed until November 21. On November 27, the album was eventually released without notice on all streaming platforms. Despite generally critical reaction, the album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 ahead of Travis Scott's Astroworld. 6ix9ine was featured on former collaborator A Boogie wit da Hoodie's album "Swervin," peaking at number 27 on the Hot 100 and his sophomore album Hoodie SZN, despite being in prison. The album and the song were released on December 21, 2018.

Hernandez's name, Tenda Projects, has a two-album contract with his company 10K Projects for one album in English and one in Spanish.

Hernandez had to request permission from a judge to film a video in his backyard while in home confinement and was eventually granted permission. Hernandez revealed on May 7, 2020, marking his return to music and his 24th birthday. "Gooba" was released alongside a music video. The track includes links to COVID-19 ("They sick, they were hot, way before coronavirus") and Hernandez's collaboration with federal prosecutors and testimony ("Tell me how I ratted, came home to a huge bag," Pitchfork's Madison Bloom said). Hernandez announced on June 12, 2020, after multiple delays, his next single "Trollz," a collaboration with Nicki Minaj, was announced on June 12, 2020. The album debuted at number one on the Hot 100, marking 6ix9ine's first number-one single. In its second week, "Trollz" dropped to number 34, the highest position drop from number one in the chart's history, but Taylor Swift's "Willow" broke the record earlier this year. On July 3, 2020, a new single, "Yaya," was announced. It debuted at number 99 on the Billboard Hot 100 and fell out of the charts the following week. On August 2, Punani's fourth single, "Punani," was released.

Both of the songs are included in his second studio album, TattleTales, which was released on September 4, 2020. Hernandez expressed disappointment with the album's treatment, insisting that they did not have a new album on the main pages of their storefronts and not including him in their playlists, which are extremely popular on the charts, with him saying he was victimized by the music industry as a result of his cooperating. Hernandez was profiled in a Hulu true crime documentary film called 69: The Saga of Danny Hernandez in November 2020. Although an archival video of Hernandez is included in the film, he was not interviewed for the film.

He returned to "Zaza" on February 19, 2021, notably throwing jabs at Lil Durk and Meek Mill, whom he has feuded with. On the Hot 100, the album debuted at number 90.

On April 15, 2022, he performed the song "Giné," flinging jabs at Lil Durk and King Von. The album was also released in collaboration with Giné energy drink, for which 6ix9ine created a new drink with the company.
