Theodore Tillman Shackelford III (born June 23, 1946) is an American actor.
He appeared in a recurring role on CBS soap Knots Landing (1979-1993); since 2006, he has appeared on the CBS soap The Young and the Restless, portraying twin brothers William and Jeffrey Bardwell.
Life and career
Shackelford was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and attended the University of Denver. Ray Gordon appeared on the daytime soap opera Another World from 1975 to 1977. He has appeared on Wonder Woman and later in The Division. In addition, he appeared in the British science fiction series Space Precinct. Shackelford is best known for his role on CBS television show Knots Landing, in which he appeared from 1979 to 1993. On several episodes of CBS's Dallas, Gary Ewing appeared as Gary Ewing. The role was first performed by actor David Ackroyd, who was unable to return for future appearances after his 1978 appearance as the lead.
Shackelford joined the cast of The Young and the Restless as Genoa City district attorney William Bardwell on February 2, 2006. William Bardwell's last air date on the popular soap was on July 18, 2007, when his character succumbed to injuries owing to stroke complications. However, Shackelford, Bardwell's identical twin brother Jeffrey Bardwell, returned to the show on August 7, 2007.
