Takahiro Moriuchi Life

Takahiro Moriuchi (born in Tokyo, 1988) is a Japanese musician who is best known as Taka, and he is the lead singer of the Japanese rock band One Ok Rock.

Moriuchi is his band's top lyricist and composer.

On their list of the "50 Greatest Rockstars in the World," the magazine ranked him at number 27.

He was also ranked by Rock Sound magazine as one of the "50 Most Influential Figures in Rock" during 2003 and later.

Personal life

Taka was born on April 17, 1988, the eldest son of famous Japanese singers Masako Mori and Shinichi Mori. Tomohiro Moriuchi, who works on television Tokyo, and Hiroki Moriuchi, the band's lead singer, are among his two younger brothers.

He attended Keio Elementary School and graduated in March 2001, then continued his studies at Keio Middle School in April 2001. In his first year of middle school, he joined soccer team. He attended Keio High School for his first year of high school in April 2004 (March 2005). He later left to pursue his musical career. After dropping out of high school after a verbal abuse with his parents, he left home and lived with his grandmother. He took up part-time work at a restaurant in Aoyama to prepare himself for living alone during this period. His parents divorced in April 2005.

Moriuchi () to Morita () in 2005, as a result of his parents' divorce, he changed his last name. In an interview with Rockin'On Japan in June 2012, he stated that his real name is Takahiro Moriuchi. In 2013, he is seen again in a photo using his last name, Moriuchi, where all One Ok Rock band members displayed a written record of their real names. Rui Hashimoto, a photographer, took the picture.

On his fourth album Niche Syndrome, Taka's "Nobody's Home" tells about his apology and respect for his parents. The album appeared at several concerts, including at the Nippon Budokan in 2010 where his parents attended the performance.

Career

Taka signed with Johnny's Entertainment in august 2001 at the age of 13. He joined Johnny's Junior as a trainee and made some performing appearances on Japanese music shows during this period. Taka was one of the Johnny's Juniors selected to be a member of the idol group News in September 2003, two years since joining the agency. However, his services were suspended when he left the organization and the company in December of the same year.

In 2004, he was in Chivalry of Music, which featured a keyboardist, a guitarist, and him on vocals.

In 2005, guitarist Toru Yamashita invited Taka to join One Ok Rock. In 2006, the band released their first solo CD and was signed by Amuse, Inc., who made their major debut with Amuse, Inc.

Rurouni Kenshin's manga and anime adaptation, although the band did moderately well with music sales until they reached their peak in August 2012 on the release of "The Beginning," the band's theme song for the live action movie adaptation. With high attendance and regular tour dates in Japan, the band's concerts have been sold out many times. ONE OK ROCK has also performed in Asia, the United States, Europe, and South America.

Simple Plan revealed a Japanese-only version of their song "Summer Paradise" in March 2013. They later appeared together at the Tokyo music festival Punkspring 2013.

Since losing their vocalist, K (Kei Goto), death due to heart disease, Taka helped Pay Money to My Pain to perform and write one of their songs on their tribute album Gene in November 2013.

Both "Mighty Long Fall" and "Heartache" were featured as theme songs for Rurouni Kenshin's live action movie sequels in summer 2014, Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends and Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends.

Moriuchi appeared on Against the Current's track "Dreaming Alone" in February 2015.

One Ok Rock has signed to Warner Bros. Records, and has released an English version of their album, 35xxxv, as of July 2015.

One Ok Rock was signed by Ramen on September 11, 2016. Ambitions, Ramen's eighth album, was released on January 11, 2017 for the Japanese version album A-Sketch and the English version album under Ramen's American name Fueled.

Moriuchi appeared on Goldfinger's album "Don't Let Me Go" as a guest vocalist in July 2017. He appeared at Linkin Park and Friends on October 27th, 2017, on the 27th of October, 2017, where he performed "Somewhere I Belong" with the remaining members of Linkin Park. He appeared on Linkin Park co-vocalist Mike Shinoda's appearance at Identity Festival in Los Angeles on May 12, 2018, performing "Waiting for the End/Where'd You Go" mash-up.

Arnel Pineda, the Journey frontman, collaborated with him on September 14, 2020, covering the 1981 Journey classic ballad "Open Arms." The video was shot in a separate manner and posted on Pineda's YouTube channel.
