Sydney Ellen Lucas (born July 11, 2003) is an American child actor with experience in musical theatre, film, and television.

Small Alison Bechdel is the female lead in Lisa Kron and Jeanine Tesori's musical Fun Home, which earned her an Obie Award and Theater World Award and a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her role.

Jeannie McCullough is currently starring in AMC's western drama television series The Son.

Life and career

When she was two years old, Sydney and her parents and two older brothers moved to New York City with her parents and two older brothers. Her parents own a software development firm. Lucas underwent heart surgery in 2009 to fix an atrial septal defect. Jake Lucas, her older brother, is also a professional actor, and the two siblings appeared together in a Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup commercial and together with Jennifer Aniston in the film She's Funny That Way, which was released in 2015. She has studied acting with Diane Hardin and singing with Badiene Magaziner. She has also studied singing with her mother, Karri Lucas, who holds a degree in vocal performance from DePauw University. She is currently a student at the University of New York.

Lucas was the youngest person to win an Obie Award in the original Off-Broadway cast of Lisa Kron and Jeanine Tesori's musical Fun Home in 2014. She was also nominated for a Drama Desk Award the previous year, among other prestigious accolades. Lucas continued with the show when it premiered in Broadway, winning a Theatre World Award and being nominated for Best Featured Actress in a Musical in 2015 at the age of 11. On October 4, 2015, Lucas left Fun Home.

On February 21, and 22, 2016, Lucas appeared in The Secret Garden with Manhattan Concert Productions, 2016.

Lucas has played the younger version of two main characters from Kristen Wiig's film Girl Most Likely (2012) and The Skeleton Twins (2014). Her television appearances include appearances on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Royal Pains, Saturday Night Live, and Team Umizoomi. In Giuseppe Verdi's Macbeth at the Metropolitan Opera in 2012, she appeared as Malcolm's Daughter.
