Montano is of Filipino and Thai descent and grew up mainly in the United States, but he also spent a few years in Bangkok, Thailand. She began participating in extracurricular activities during her high school years. Severino Montano, a Filipino actor and writer, is her granduncle.
Education and acting career
She graduated from Harvard University in 1993 and is a Fulbright scholar in the United States. She spent a few years as an investment-banking analyst for Morgan Stanley following graduation. Montano resigned and went backpacking through Africa after realizing that investment banking wasn't something she was passionate about, before realizing she wanted to work professionally.
Montano has played a variety of roles, both live-action and voice-over. She is an expert at using many accents, including Chinese, Filipino, British, Southern, Thai, Vietnamese, Eastern European, and Japanese.
