Sullivan Stapleton Life

Sullivan Stapleton (born 14 June 1977) is an Australian actor best known for his appearances in the SKY (BSkyB)/Cinemax/HBO television series Strike Back, Animal Kingdom, and 300: Rise of an Empire.

He is currently appearing in the NBC crime drama Blindspot, which premiered on September 21, 2015. In the film 300: Rise of an Empire (2014), Stapleton played the leading role, Greek king Themistocles.

On October 24, 2013, he was honoured with a Breakthrough Award at an exclusive Australians in Film Benefit Dinner held in Los Angeles.

Early life

Stapleton was born in Melbourne, Victoria. He and his younger sister, actress Jacinta Stapleton, were six at the time, joined an acting and modeling company when he was eight years old. The idea was first presented to their aunt who enrolled her children with the department. She then asked her nephew and nieces if they would like to join and their mother signed them in, and her uncle and nieces followed her. Joshua, Stapleton's younger brother, began acting in early childhood; in addition to acting, he pursued interests in dance and musical theatre.

The photograph of Stapleton attracted the attention of a filmmaker who invited him to be in his short film (about high school dropouts at a party where girls were dying, without the graphic violence). The director, who was awed by his appearance, said he was gifted and encouraged to continue acting.

Stapleton received his education at St. Martin's Theatre in Melbourne. Sandringham Secondary College (in Sandringham, Victoria, Australia) studied drama and theatre.
