Steve Bacic (BAY-sik, born March 13, 1965) is a Canadian actor.
On the Sci-Fi film Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda, he is best known for his appearances as Gaheris and Telemachus Rhade.
He appeared in seasons 1-3 as both characters and as Telemachus early in season four.
He appeared in 44 of the 110 Andromeda episodes in total. He co-starred in "Jason" on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries' Garage Sale Mysteries series of television films, beginning in 2013.
Early life and education
Bacic was born in Lisi, a village in Croatia (then Yugoslavia), and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He has claimed that acting was really his second choice - he wanted to be a professional athlete and become either a mentor or a physical therapist. After graduating from university with a degree in kinesiology, he spent time at a factory job and owned two houses at one time.
Career
A road trip with friends culminated in him arriving in Vancouver, British Columbia, where, intrigued by all the television and film production that was going on there, he decided to stay and took acting lessons. He appeared in a little bit in the 5th season of 21 Jump Street, but he was eventually given the lead guest-starring role.
In a memorable episode, his television appearances include appearances on Street Justice, The Outer Limits, Highlander, Stargate SG-1, Smallville, ER, Republic of Doyle, and The X-Files, where he played a SWAT officer who douses himself with gas. His film appearances include The 6th Day, Threshold, X2 and the Hallmark Channel film The Colt, as well as Deck the Halls, Safe Harbor, and She Made It On Lifetime.
