Stephen Michael Tulloch (born January 1, 1985) is a former American football linebacker.
He was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft.
He played college football at North Carolina State.
He was also a member of the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles.
College career
Tulloch played college football at North Carolina State and was named MVP of the Meineke Car Care Bowl in 2005, beating the University of South Florida. He foregoing his senior season and entering the 2006 NFL Draft following his junior season.
Professional career
In the fourth round (116th overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans selected Tulloch. He played for them from 2006 to 2010, receiving 457 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and two interceptions.
On July 31, 2011, Tulloch signed with the Detroit Lions. He started all 16 games with the Lions in his first year, with 111 tackles, three sacks, and two interceptions. Tim Tebow was one of his firings, and he congratulated the firing by tebowing. On March 20, 2012, he re-signed with the Lions for five years. Tulloch was named winner of the Detroit Lions-Detroit Sports Broadcasters Association's Media-Friendly "Good Guy Award" for his Detroit media appearances. Tulloch tore his ACL in the first quarter of the week 3 game against the Green Bay Packers on September 21, 2014. On September 22, 2014, he was put on a season-ending injured reserve.
The Lions released Tulloch on July 5, 2016.
Tulloch's contract with the Philadelphia Eagles extended to one year, $3 million, reuniting him with defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, who competed for Tennessee from 2006 to 2012, and Detroit from 2011 to 2013.
Tulloch resigned from football after 11 seasons on April 18, 2017. Following his release from service, he has been involved in the Detroit community and supports the Detroit Lions alumni association.
