Steven Charles Kanumba (8 January 1984-to-date) was a Tanzanian actor and director.
Kanumba died in 2012 at the age of 28, for which actress Elizabeth Michael was found guilty of mandatory manslaughter and sentenced to two years in prison in November 2017.

Early life
Kanumba was born in Northern Tanzania's Shinyanga Province. Charles Kanumba's father was Charles Kanumba, and Flora Mutegoa was his mother. Kanumba's older sisters were three years old. He began his lessons at Bugoyi Primary School and continued with his secondary education at Mwadui Secondary School, later moving to Vosa Mission Secondary School. He began attending Jitegemee High School for his high-level education. He spoke in three languages fluently: Swahili, Sukuma, and English.
Career
Kanumba debuted in the 1990s in church revivals. He joined the Kaole Arts Group in 2002. He appeared in the television soap operas Jahazi and Dira and made his film debut in Haviliki. In 2006, he met Nazz, who gave him tips and referrals for his future. He appeared in Dar 2 Lagos (Part 2), a film by Mtitu Game that starred both Tanzanian and Nigerian actors and crew. He has appeared in the films She Is It, This Is It, and Love Gamble. He appeared on Big Brother Africa 4 in 2009 as a special celebrity guest.
Kanumba was named an Oxfam GROW Ambassador in 2011. He had been preparing for his first Hollywood film role shortly before his death, but he was already "Tanzania's most popular film actor" and appeared in Nollywood films.
