She was married to guitarist Tommy Andrews from 1989 to 1990.
By mid-1991, she had been involved with Axl Rose, Guns N' Roses' lead singer. "Don't Cry" and "November Rain" were two Guns N' Roses music videos: she appeared in two music videos: "Don't Cry" and "November Rain." According to reports, the couple were engaged but they broke up in February 1993. Rose sued Seymour in August 1993, claiming she assaulted him and loo loot more than $100,000 worth of jewelry. Seymour countersued, arguing that he was physically assaulted. Seymour forced Erin Everly, Rose's ex-wife, to testify that she was also assaulted by him. The cases were eventually settled.

Early life and career
Seymour, the middle child of a California real estate developer and hairstylist mother, began modeling in San Diego, California, at the age of 16. She qualified in 1983 at the age of 15 and was a finalist in the inaugural Elite Model Management Look of the Year modeling competition (now called Elite Model Look).
Seymour appeared in many issues of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and on the back of Vogue in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Seymour, the relatively new Victoria's Secret company's nascent lingerie and hosiery model, was used in its mail-order catalogs and retail stores during the same time. Seymour performed for Playboy in March 1991 and again in February 1993. She was one of the 1980s and 1990s top models, as well as Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, and Claudia Schiffer. Multiple of these models will be photographed on the front cover of a book published by Mario Testino called "A League Of Their Own" later this year.
The editors cite "original supermodels" and Seymour in their book "In Vogue: The Illustrated History of the World's Most Popular Fashion Magazine," when quoting Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, "They [weren't] were like movie stars" and "fully reflected the time." The editors select notable models from previous decades, but they note that "none of them earned the renown and worldwide recognition bestowed on Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Tatjana Patitz, Stephanie Seymour, Yasmeen Ghauri, and Karen Mulder in the late 1980s and early 1990s." These models leapt out of the magazine pages. Many of the faces of cosmetics and perfumes had their own television channels and fitness videos, as well as their own lines of lingerie. All kinds of sociological and historical research were focused on their lives, interests, and photographs.
Seymour wrote Stephanie Seymour's Beauty Secrets for Dummies in 1998. Seymour was ranked #91 on the North American FHM 100 Sexiest Women of 2000 list in 2000. In 2006, she and her children appeared in a Gap campaign.
Salvatore Ferragamo's creative campaign for his fall/winter 2007/2008 collection featured Seymour and Claudia Schiffer, who photographed on location in Italy with Mario Testino. The models appear in these promotional photos as film stars shielded by bodyguards and pursued by paparazzi. For the September 2013 issue of Interview magazine titled "Model," Seymour was joined by other top models Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista, Daria Werbowy, Christy Turlington, and Amber Valletta.
Seymour was named a worldwide spokesmodel for Estée Lauder in 2014.
Seymour co-founded and launched Raven & Sparrow, a lingerie brand. The collection includes everything from camisoles and rompers to silk robes and nightgowns, as well as high-end vintage inspired pieces made for comfort. Barneys New York is the only place to buy it.
In the film Hell: A Cyberpunk Thriller, Seymour's first acting role was as explosives specialist Cynna Stone. In a game in which characters and scenery were nearly all CG rendereds, she played the odd part of a live actor.
In the film Pollock, Seymour played Helen Frankenthaler. Sara Lindstrom appeared in the "Crazy" episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent in 2002.
