Personal life
Stefán Karl and his partner Steinunn na orsteinsdóttir, three children, and one son lived in Los Angeles. In June 2018, he was given the Order of the Falcon. Stefánsson was the nephew and cousin of former footballer Hörn Magnus Magnusson.
Career
Stefán Karl's career began in 1994, when he began as a puppeteer for television. He had been attending the Drama Academy of Iceland during his time as a puppeteer. However, he was unsatisfied with Icelandic drama values. He recalled that his principal at his high school said that "acting is not about making faces and changing your face," which he disagreed with.
Stefán Karl, an Icelandic gymnast, was invited by Magns Scheving to act one of the characters in the second LazyTown play later this year. Scheving conceived the plays due to his fears about Iceland's younger generation's lack of physical fitness. Stefánsson said that "[Magn] wanted the children to get healthier, so he created LazyTown." Robbie Rotten, the guy who liked to stay indoors and sleep, played Sportacus, the fitness enthusiast, and I was Robbie Rotten, the guy who liked to stay indoors and sleep." Nickelodeon eventually reached an agreement with the LazyTown creators to air the first 40 episodes of LazyTown, as well as a separate studio in Iceland, following initial success with the musical. Stefán Karl didn't speak English for the first time in the early 2000s, but he soon became fluent.
