Eastern Michigan basketball star and NBA prospect Emoni Bates has been arrested on gun charges west of Detroit. The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office said Bates, a transfer from Memphis, was pulled over after failing to stop at an intersection. Police ultimately said a firearm was discovered and Bates was taken into custody. Bates, 18, is charged with two felonies: carrying a concealed weapon and altering the ID markings on a firearm. His attorney did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com's request for comment.
