Srbuhi Sargsyan (born 3 April 1994) is an Armenian singer.
She first came to prominence after competing in season one of the Armenian version of The X Factor, in which she came in runner's place.
She appeared in season eight of The Voice of Ukraine in 2018, placing fourth.
With the song "Walking Out," Srbuk represented Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Early life
Sargsyan was born in Yerevan on April 3, 1994. She studied at the Komitas State Conservatory in Yerevan, where she learned to play the qanun.
Career
Srbuk auditioned for the first season of the Armenian version of The X Factor, where she performed "Soon We'll Be Found" by Sia. She joined Garik Papoyan's team and finished in second place. Srbuk formed Allusion in 2012 to perform with her at small gigs and shows around the region. She appeared on Papoyan's single "Boat," which was one of the soundtracks for a Russian film named "к на омине" in 2014.
"Yete Karogh Es" was her debut single on Srbuk in 2016. She appeared in season eight of The Voice of Ukraine in 2018, being coached by Ukrainian singer Potap and finishing fourth.
In November 2018, she was named Armenian representative in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel. AMPTV launched the song submission period for composers right after the announcement. "Walking Out" was declared as her entry for the competition in March 2019. The songs were written by Lost Capital and Tokionine, who also co-wrote Armenia's 2014 entry for Aram Mp3. Srbuk performed the song on May 16th in the second semi-final of the competition but did not progress to the final, placing 16th in the semi-finals. The song was taken from Spotify a few weeks after.
