Sho Sakurai Life

Sho Sakurai Sho (born January 25, 1982) is a Japanese singer, songwriter, rapper, comedian, producer, newscaster, host, and former radio presenter.

He is a member of Arashi, a boy band. When Sakurai first joined Johnny & Associates in 1995 at the age of 13, he began his career in the entertainment industry.

He became a newscaster in 2006, about seven years after he made his debut as a musician with Arashi in 1999.

On NTV, he was named as the official newscaster for Beijing's Olympics in 2008.

In 2009, Sakurai was named one of the recipients of the GQ Japan's Men of the Year award for his work as an actor, singer, and newscaster.

Shun Sakurai, the former Vice Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, is his father.

Early life

Sakurai was born in Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture, and grew up in Minato, Tokyo, the youngest of three children. Shun Sakurai ( ) is a former government official who served as Vice Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications and Vice President of Dentsu Group. Mai (b. ) is Sakurai's younger sister. Shu (b. ), a journalist for Nippon television, and a younger brother, Shu (b. 1994 (in 1994).

Sakurai attended Keio Yochisha Elementary School, a Keio University-affiliated elementary school. He did a variety of extracurricular pursuits from the age of three to ten, including kendo, swimming, football, oil painting, calligraphy, and scouting. He began playing music in early childhood, beginning with the electric organ at age three and moving to piano in fourth grade. He played trombone in his school's brass band from fourth grade to sixth grade. He also played trumpet and attended cram school. After showing a keen interest in football during the J.League boom in 1993, he joined a local football club. He wanted to play for a professional team but at one point considered studying in Brazil to become a professional footballer. He played football until his second year in junior high school.

Sakurai's Jr. volunteered for a Johnny & Associates in 1995 and started working as a Johnny's Jr. Sakurai started studying at Keio University, graduating with a Bachelor of Economics in March 2004 despite already having a career with Arashi by the time he graduated from high school.

Music career

Sakurai's designated rapper for several of Arashi's earlier releases under the pen name "Show"), his first major contribution was for the A-side song "Kotoba Yori Taisetsu na Mono." Though not the first artist from Johnny's to rap, his breakthrough made it possible for his juniors to rap as well, despite being idols. According to Taichi Kokubun, Tokio's ex-KAT-TUN member Koki Tanaka (, Tanaka Kki) began to rap because of him.

In 2006, he became the first person in Arashi to host The Show, which was the first person to do so. That same year, Sakurai was also a member of a special group starring his Kisarazu Cat's Eye World Series co-stars. They were the first to market the film, releasing the movie's theme song "Seaside Byee" (, "Shisaido Baibai") as a single on October 25, 2006.

Sakurai co-wrote the lyrics of six songs on Arashi's album Boku no Miteii in August. "Movin' On," "Mada Ue," "Taboo" (Sho Sakurai solo), "Let Me Down," "Sora Takaku," and "Summer Splash are among the songs listed. "I'm a student at the University of On the other hand, it's a disaster."

Acting career

Sakurai made his debut on television in Arashi's volleyball-centered short drama V no. (V) in 1999, unlike the other members, who made their big acting debut on stage. He co-starred in the manga-based comedy comedy drama Yamada Ninomiya in 2007. Sakurai appeared on a small guest appearance on the final episode of My Girl in 2009, which was bandmate Masaki Aiba's first starring role in a serial drama. He also appeared on Satoshi Ohno's comedy drama film Uta no oniisan as himself earlier this year. Sakurai co-starred with other members of Arashi in the human suspense drama special Saigo no Yakusoku on January 9, 2010.

He appeared in his first drama series, Tengoku ni Ichiban Chikai Otoko 2 (, The Man Closest to Heaven 2), as his mentor, Masahiro Matsuoka. In the 5th Nikkan Sports Drama Grand Prix Awards, his character as a student with two opposing characters made him the Best Newcomer award.

Sakurai was given his first lead role in the drama "Yote Harpo" in 2003 (Ally of Good Children). Taiy Suzuki (also known as Suzuki Taiya) was portrayed by the author as a man who tries to prove himself to be a nursery school teacher in Taiy. Before Yoiko no Mikata, Sakurai held several drama specials and mini-dramas until 2005. In a late-night drama series called Tokio in which each episode lasted for fifteen minutes, he also appeared in Tokio, a NHK late-night drama series in which each episode lasted for fifteen minutes.

Despite that no dramas, films, or stageplays from Sakurai were released in 2008 due to his involvement with the Olympic Games in Beijing and Arashi's concert tours, 2009 saw his first lead role in a drama series since Yoiko no Mikata.

He portrayed an amnesic host of a live TV quiz show in 2009, in the drama The Quiz Show 2 with You Yokoyama. Yukio Tomizawa Yukio (, Tomizawa Yukio), a 28-year-old life insurance salesman who was trapped in a building robbery, was portrayed by the actor. On January 16, 2010, Sakurai appeared in the docudrama special Kobe Shimbun no Nanokakan (7-days of the Kobe Newspaper) for the seventh day. He portrayed Tomohiko Mitsuyama (, Mitsuyama Tomohiko), a real photo reporter who worked with the Kobe Shimbun and helped keep the newspaper running without interruption despite the Kobe earthquake's destruction.

Tokujo Kabachi, the first episode of Sakurai and Maki Horikita's comedy drama, aired on January 17, 2010.

The film's plot follows a murder case that takes place on board a luxurious cruise ship. In addition to set filming, the production crew filmed in Singapore, where they boarded the luxurious cruise ship SuperStar Virgo for onsite filming. By the end of July 2012, the film has completed filming and is set for release in Japan on August 3, 2013.
