Couleé was one of fourteen queens to represent RuPaul's Drag Race on the ninth season after auditioning five times and every year since they began doing drag. Campbell approved Naomi Campbell's appearance in the Snatch Game challenge, while Campbell portrayed her in approval. Couleé won their first match in the fourth episode, alongside Sasha Velour. Blac Chyna appeared on "Kardashians: The Musical" in the following episode. In the ninth episode, "Your Pilot's On Fire," Couleé defeated Sasha Velour once more. "Makeover: Crew Better Work," Coulee lip synced for their life against Nina Brown, leading her to Demi Lovato's "Cool for the Summer." Couleé won once more during the season's "Gayest Ball Ever" after designing a style inspired by the Village People's "construction worker."

The final four queens of RuPaul's "Category Is" choreographed by Todrick Hall wrote, recorded, danced, and performed a verse. All four queens appeared in a first series, with one of them progressing to the finale. Couleé was given a personalized video from Blac Chyna, whom Couleé had featured earlier in the "Reality Stars: The Rusical" challenge. For the first time in Drag Race history, the final four queens were all involved in a "lip sync for the crown." Coulee was chosen to lipsync against Sasha Velour from Whitney Houston's "So Emotional," but she failed. They ultimately finished in joint third/fourth place. Couleé's demise was greeted with skepticism, with many people suggesting Shea Couleé should have been crowned. Coulée was announced as a contestant on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars' fifth season on May 8, 2020. On episode five of Snatch Game of Love, Couleé defeated Flavor Flav as the Flav himself. Vanessa Valiante Mateo fought her in "Open Your Heart" by Madonna and took the title. Couleé re-released their song "Creme Brulee" on May 18, as well as a accompanying music video. Lil' Kim, Nicki Minaj, and Azealia Banks inspired the song. It was an autobiographical show that included song, tale, and comedic comedy, focusing on their upbringing and how they became drag. In magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Couleé's makeovers have been featured. Couleé's first article for Metro appeared in October. Couleé attended the first ever RuPaul's DragCon UK in January 2020. On the Nubia tour, Couleé performed alongside BeBe Zahara Benet, Bob The Drag Queen, Mo Heart, Peppermint, and The Vixen in March 2020. The tour began in New York City with sold-out shows, and the tour is scheduled to visit Los Angeles and other major cities around the country.

Couleé revealed Shea Coul-Alé, a beer created in partnership with DoStuff Media and Goose Island Brewery in May 2020 as part of their Drag a Beer campaign. The proceeds went to a charity that helps people within the LGBT group.
