Shawn Lane Life

Shawn Lane (March 21, 1963 – September 26, 2003) was an American musician who performed two studio albums and collaborated with a number of artists, including Ringo Starr, Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Reggie Young, Jonas Hellborg, and many others.

He mastered the piano after learning the piano, a natural performer who played with ferocious speed.

Early life

Lane, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, began playing piano with his siblings at the age of eight but didn't play guitar properly until he was ten years old. He began exercising regularly from the age of 12 to 13. He performed for Black Oak Arkansas (BOA) at 14 years old, alongside drummer Tommy Aldridge, and REO Speedwagon, Ted Nugent, Outlaws, Cheap Trick, Molly Hatchet, and Blue Yster Cult. Shawn appeared on The Streets, recording studio demos with Andy Tanas on bass, Chris Craig on drums, and Jimmy Henderson on guitar, almost securing a deal with Epic Records in 1979.

Allan Holdsworth performed guitar with the progressive band U.K., which inspired him to develop his own style of playing guitar. Lane performed in Savage Innocence with drummer Jim "Dandy" Mangrum, keyboardist Billy Batte, drummer Chris Craig, and bassist Kinley Wolfe, who later played with The Cult. Lane switched the original participants with players from his high school days as the original members were kicked out. Lane's style resembled jazz fusion. Lane performed in The Willys, a band made up of singer/keyboardist Sam Bryant, singer/bassist Rob Caudill, and drummer Russ Caudill in the 1980s and early 1990s. Susanne Jerome-Taylor appeared in The Breaks with Brunne Jerome-Taylor. Lane also appeared in the fusion band Out of Bounds, with Barry Bays and DeGarmo and Key drummer Chuck Reynolds.
