Shaun Toub (born April 6, 1963) is an Iranian-born American actor.

He is best known for his appearances in Iron Man (2008) and Iron Man 3 (2013), Farhad in Crash (2004), Rahim Khan in The Kite Runner (2007), and Majid Javadi in the Showtime TV series Homeland.

Early life

Toub was born in Tehran, Iran, to an Iranian Jewish family. Both his parents were podiatrists. He migrated to Manchester, England, where his mother attended podiatry school at age 2. He returned to Iran, where he lived until he was 13 years old before heading to Switzerland. To finish his last year of high school, he went to Nashua, New Hampshire. He decided to become an actor at the age of 5.

He has been a winner of the Sephard Film Festival in Los Angeles.
