Personal life
Sharnaaz is the son of Datuk Basir Ahmad, a Penang businessman. Basir was closely connected to P. Ramlee's family. During the yeh yeh period in the 60s, he appeared in several bands. Sharnaaz joined Prosecuzione Management in 2010.
