Acting career

Hampton appeared in "The Gift," a Broadway revival at Tiffany Theatre in Hollywood in 2000.

Hampton appeared in many television shows, including Shameless, Reba, Famous, Scrubs, Criminal Minds, and Miami Medical. She has appeared in the films The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Green, The Hanged Man, Christmas in the City, and You Again.

She was the face model for Rochelle in the video game Left 4 Dead 2's.

Hampton earned a degree in theater from Winthrop University. Hampton spent time at University of Illinois in Urbana–Champaign, studying acting. Hampton received a Masters of Fine Arts degree in acting.

Hampton was cast as Veronica Fisher, a showtime dramedy Shameless role for which she has received critical acclaim in Summer 2010.

Hampton appeared in Things Never Said in 2013. Hampton played a woman struggling to escape her physically abused husband. The film was released as part of the Annual American Black Film Festival, the North Carolina Black Film Festival, the Roxbury International Film Festival, the Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival, the Black Star Film Festival, and the Laguna Film Festival. More recently, she signed a NBCUniversal Television contract.
