Since joining as a producer in 2011, Moakler's private life, as well as her friendship with Olympic champion boxer Oscar De La Hoya and Hollywood actor Dennis Quaid, has been widely discussed in the media.

Early life

Moakler, who is of German, Irish, and Portuguese descent, was born in Providence, Rhode Island. She has two older brothers and an older sister, who died in 2012. As a child, Moakler enjoyed weekends at her grandparents' farm, where she could "play outside and be a tomboy." She was 4-foot-11 and 75 pounds before she finally hit puberty at age 17. However, Moakler had dated the captain of the football team and been voted as the best dressed by the time she graduated. She left high school to pursue a modeling career in Miami. Moakler later moved to New York City and then Los Angeles.

Personal life

In 1997, Moakler had a friendship with rock star Billy Idol. In a scene of The Wedding Singer, the couple appeared together. Moakler has described Idol as a gentleman but "not too sweet and sensitive." She also praised his intelligence and passion for history and philosophy.

In October 1997, Moakler began dating boxer Oscar De La Hoya and the twosome were married in early 1998. In October 1998, the couple announced their engagement. They have one child together, a daughter. "It wasn't a planned pregnancy," Moakler said, "but it was understood if it was beautiful, and if not, it wasn't fine too." In September 2000, the couple came to an end when Moakler, who was at home watching the Latin Grammy Awards on television, saw De La Hoya leading another woman to the stage. Moakler, an alcoholic, cruel to her and their children, and that he used them "as props to advertise his public image" in December 2000. In 2001, the lawsuit was settled out of court for an undisclosed sum. Hilton said Moakler punched her in the chest and yelled at her, while Moakler said she was coerced to drink a drink and led her down stairs. No charges were brought out of the altercation, so there was no accusation made.

Barker and Moakler were among those who reported that they had reconciled in early 2007. Barker told People magazine, "No, I'm no longer with her." "We were actually divorced a few days ago."

Barker was wounded in the Learjet 60, which was carrying him, crashed outside of Columbia, South Carolina, on September 19, 2008. He was taken to the Joseph M. Moakler was in a friendship with Hells Angels biker Bryan Sollima from February 2014 to July 2019.

After the former couple burst into a verbal dispute, the police were called to Moakler and Barker's shared house in Los Angeles on December 7, 2014. They made criminal allegations against one another, resulting in their detention of two of them. However, no charges were brought against either group.
