Serani Career

Career

Serani co-produced the first two singles on Sean Paul's platinum album The Trinity in 2006, including "We Be Burnin," which was the first released single. Trinity's "We Be Burning" album helped the Trinity beat a Jamaican record of 107,000 copies sold in the first week. Serani also produced the album Smash riddim, which also features Tony Matterhorn's song "Dutty Wine." For a lengthy period of time, Dutty Wine was the most popular song in Jamaica and England. Serani is credited with helping bring other Jamaican heavyweights such as Mavado, Alaine Laughton, and Bugle with their catchy beats, such as the Anger Management riddim on which Mavado sang his historic hit "Real McCoy." Among other things, DASECA performances have had success for other Reggae figures, including Bounty Killer, Busy Signal, and Vybz Kartel among others. They also support Anger Management, the Alliance's parent company. His first and very popular attempt at singing was on Mavado's hit song Dying, which is included on the latter's debut album Gangsta for Life: The Symphony of David Brooks. He sang the hook and Mavado chanted the verses.

Serani secured a JVC Entertainment deal in 2008 before deciding to sign a contract with Phase One. Serani produces the majority of his own songs and has released singles including Bugle, "No Games," and "She Loves Me." He appeared at the Ride Club in Vienna in 2012.

"No Games" by Eminem was sampled in 2020 for "Farewell," the rapper's album Music to be Murdered By.
