Kisean Paul Anderson (born February 3, 1990), better known as Sean Kingston, is a Jamaican-American singer, songwriter, rapper, and record producer whose first album, Sean Kingston, was released in 2007.
Early life and education
Born Kisean Anderson of Miami, Florida, was the first of three children born to Janice Turner. When Kingston's family was six years old, they moved to Kingston, Jamaica. Kingston attended Ocho Rios High School in Ocho Rios for three years before emigring to the United States. Lawrence Lindo, a well-known Jamaican reggae producer, appeared under the stage name Jack Ruby.
Personal life
Kingston produced a Do Something campaign to inspire youth to be involved in their communities by establishing a Do Something club. In a PETA ad in 2010, he carried one of his dogs, encouraging people not to chain their dogs outside.
Kingston was involved in a near-fatal jet skiing crash in Miami, Florida, and was rushed to the hospital right away. In the crash, Kingston was fined $180 for a careless operation. He had started riding jet skis again by 2018 by this time.
Career
Kingston was discovered on YouTube by Matt Tobin of Beluga Heights Records and signed to the brand as part of a Sony collaboration agreement. J. R. Rotem, the HitQuarters label manager and producer, outlined this process with regard to Kingston:
Kingston recorded and released the single "Beautiful Girls" in May 2007, which was part of Epic Records and Koch Records. The album debuted at number one of the Billboard Hot 100's most popular songs. "Beautiful Girls" was a hit around the world, Canada, New Zealand, the Republic of Ireland, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
