Early life
Jeffery was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, and is of mixed African, Indigenous Canadian, and English descent. Since she was three years old, Jeffery has been performing, dancing, and acting in musicals and theatrical productions.

Career
Jeffery's first major acting role was in the Cartoon Network television film Aliens in the House. She landed a leading role in the DirecTV original series Rogue, opposite Thandie Newton, starring Evie Travis, just short of her daughter. Amy later joined Fox's sci-fi drama series Wayward Pines in the role of Amy, opposite Matt Dillon and Carla Gugino.
In the Disney Channel Original Movie Descendants, Jeffery played Princess Audrey, the niece of Princess Aurora. Audrey in the animated sequel to Descendants: Wicked World continued her her character. In 2019, she reprised her role as Audrey in Descendants 3, the franchise's third and final sequel.
In January 2016, she became the lead actress in Adi Hasak's American police procedural crime series Shades of Blue, starring Cristina Santos, the daughter of Jennifer Lopez's character; the series was renewed for a second season.
