Career

Burns is best known for her appearances in comedic films and television series. Anne in Slow Learners (2015) opposite Adam Payne, Hailey, How We Know It (2010) and Janine Groff in Life as We Know It (2010).

She has appeared in television shows including Damage Control (one episode; 2005), Flight of the Conchords (one episode; 2007), Party Down (one episode; 2012) and Ben and Kate (one episode; 2012). She appeared in the short film Cried Suicide (2010), which was screened at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival. At the 2013 Seattle International Film Festival, her short film "The First Step" (2012) premiered.

She appears in a recurring cast of sketch stars for the Comedy Central television series Drunk History, which premiered in July 2013. Burns appeared on the second season of the FX comedy film Married in 2015. In Season Two of How to Get Away With Murder, Burns appeared as Assistant District Attorney Emily Sinclair.

A group of protesters can be seen gathered around an Israeli flag, which they almost set on fire before an officer intervened. When the officer is confronted by violent demonstrators, he leaps in and retrieves the flag.
