Lee Jung-hwan (born March 20, 1992) better known by his stage name Sandeul is a South Korean singer.

He is a member of the South Korean boy group B1A4, which debuted on April 23, 2011.

On October 4, 2016, he debuted as a solo artist.

Personal life

Sandeul was enlisted in the military on November 11, 2021, after completing five weeks of compulsory training, which culminated in Sandeul's service as a social worker.

Career

Before training and debut, Lee was known to have participated in numerous singing competitions. After performing a song by Kim Yeon-woo in a talent showcase, Lee was approached by a company agent. He then completed a two-year apprenticeship program.

Lee became B1A4's top vocalist after years of preparation. Following the announcement of B1A4's news, WM Entertainment revealed Lee as the fourth member to be introduced after the introduction of the news of B1A4 as well as Jinyoung, Baro, and Gongchan's pictures on April 11, 2011. The CNU was announced the next day.

B1A4's debut Track "OK" and mini album Let's Fly debuted on April 20, 2011, on MBC Show, B1A4's debut on April 20, 2011. Core Music.

B1A4 was invited to appear in MTV's reality show Match Up with Block B, marking their debut. B1A4 produced a music video for "Only Learnt The Bad Things" as one of the show's initiatives.

As Joo Bong, Lee made his musical debut in Brothers Were Brave in May 2012. In addition, he and some of B1A4's members have competed on Immortal Songs a number of times. For the first time in December, Kim Bum Ryong (with Baro) took the trophy for the first time, performing "The Way to Live Like a Man."

He began as a Musical Theater undergraduate at Myongji University in 2013. Lee was also competing on Immortal Songs. He won his second on a Yim Jae-beom special, dedicating his performance, "I'm a Candle Before You," to his late aunt. Lee was in charge of the lead role in the musical The Thousandth Man in October.

In 2014, Lee was cast in Elvis Presley's musical All Shook Up. The musical is based on William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night and based on Elvis Presley's songs.

Lee appeared on Mystery Music Show: King of Mask Singer in April 2015. After being barred from being analyzed, a singing competition scheme is launched in which masked celebrities perform and reveal their identities only after being identified. He became the runner-up of the first generation of "Flowering Silky Fowl" and, as a result, received more attention for his vocal skills. He later joined the program as a program fixed panelist. Lee performed on numerous occasions throughout 2016: He performed on Immortal Songs alone, then went back to perform a single set of Immortal Songs alone, and then joined B1A4 as a full group for the first time later this year. Lee made his first appearance on Duet Song Festival with Jo Seon-young in April. They were the first pair to win in a row, and they were crowned King of Kings on a special episode. On episode 28, he returned to the show to perform a special duet with Ken(VIXX). Lee also worked on Two Yoo Project Sugar Man and Girl Spirit with Baek A-yeon and Oh My Girl's Seunghee respectively, as collaborating on JTBC's Two Yoo Project Sugar Man and Girl Spirit. As a guest panelist, he also returned to King of Mask Singer as a guest panelist. Lee appeared on Special Live: Your Choice! on October 5, Lee was one of the many celebrities on the show "Your Choice!" The King of Mask Singer – a special live edition that brings back contestants who had been rejected in previous episodes – has been voted for a special Mask King, and a special Mask King has been selected from live voting. In Episode 84, Lee was selected to be the King of the live episode, and he was able to appear as a challenger. However, on that episode, he lost to Ali and Kim Dong-myung of Boohwal.

Lee debuted as a solo artist in the form Stay As You Are, where he first began writing and composing songs in October 2016.

Lee became the first male ambassador for the presidential election in February 2017. He was commissioned alongside Kim Yeon-woo, Jung Ae-ri, Jin Se-yeon, Jang Na-ra, and Yoon Joo-sang. Later, he joined singer Kim Yeon-woo for a special appearance in You Hee-yeol's Sketchbook, encouraging people to vote. In addition, the National Election Commission released a video of Kim and Lee performing a resurrectition of the song "As One Says."

Lee returned to Immortal Songs 2 in June 2017, winning his third trophy with the song "Like a Dandelion Spore." He received his fourth trophy after a month, on the summer Spent Together with Friends special. At the end of that year, Lee and Ahn were in the Best of the Best Competition Special.

The song "Oppa," a Lee and Yoo Seung-woo team's collaboration, was released on July 6, 2017. Lee was on display in Primary's Pop EP in August.

Lee was announced to play the male lead in the film "Thirty Something" in August 2017.

Lee was involved in the development of B1A4's album, co-writing and co-composing the song "Like a Child" on EP Rollin'.

Lee was announced on July 6, 2018 as the 26th DJ for MBC's late night radio show "Starry Night" beginning on July 9.

Lee was chosen to appear in the musical "Iron Mask" in August 2018, portraying the dual role of Louis and Philippe.

Lee appeared in In Sync KBS2's In Sync Kobe, a duet matching display, in March 2019. They were partnered with rapper DinDin on Lee Hi's "Breath" they won.

Lee is set for his first solo comeback during April and May 2019, as his second EP will be released on June 3. In addition, Lee's agency announced that he would perform his first Japanese and Korean solo concerts in June.

Lee reimagined his role in the film "Iron Mask" in November. In February 2020, Lee played Clive Owen in the film "Sherlock Holmes: The Missing Children."

Lee received the Excellence Award on December 29, 2019 for his work as a DJ on "Starry Night." Lee resigned as the host of the radio show on May 10, 2020, after a year and ten months.

For the first time as part of Mingalabar, Lee's co-stars (Yoon Do-hyun, Sandara Park, Kim Jae-hwan, JooE, and Yoo Jae-hwan) produced children's songs, they performed.

"Lazy Me" was released on May 27, 2020, the first song of what was supposed to be three-part digital singles project "Lazy Me" (lit. Lee was confirmed to star in the film "1976 Harlan County," based on the American documentary film Harlan County, USA, in April 2021.
