Jung San (born (January 23, 1985), more commonly known by his stage name San E, is a South Korean rapper.
He debuted on JYP Entertainment in 2010, where he was the label's first solo artist.

Early life
San E was born in South Korea on January 23, 1985. Since his parents were struggling financially as a result of the 1997 Asian financial crisis, he and his family migrated to Atlanta, Georgia, USA, as a middle school student. He studied graphic design at the University of Georgia, where he concentrated on graphic design.
Personal life
San E's agency announced on August 23, 2022, that he was getting married to his non-celebrity mother. They married in a private ceremony in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on September 24, 2022.
Career
In 2008 and 2009, San E released his first mixtapes titled Ready To Be Signed and Ready To Be Famous. San E jokingly dissed established underground rapper Verbal Jint in one of his songs as a way to draw attention to his self-released music. Verbal Jint himself, who invited San E to join his hip hop crew, Overclass, attracted his attention from the Korean hip hop community and Verbal Jint himself.
San E received Best Hip Hop Song at the 2010 Korean Music Awards for the track "Rap Genius," despite being unsigned. He became the first solo rapper to sign with JYP Entertainment, one of the "big three" record labels in the k-pop industry, shortly after. Everybody Ready?, JYP Entertainment musicians Min (of Miss A), and Joo and Yeeun (of Wonder Girls), were among his first mini-albums released in September. With his single "Tasty San," starring Min. Countdown, he appeared on television music show M Countdown several days later. San E launched a second round of press for the single, "LoveSick," the music video for which starred label mate Sohee of Wonder Girls.
San E released several singles in 2011, including "Please Don't Go," a collaboration with rapper Outsider and singer Lee Changmin (of 2AM). When contracted under JYP Entertainment, the album debuted at #14 on the Gaon Digital Chart, making it his highest charted song. Verbal Jint, Beenzino, Swings, and other artists performed on the single "Stand Up, Japan" that year. Following the Tohoku tsunami, which aided Japan's reconstruction efforts.
San E resigned from JYP Entertainment in April 2013, on the grounds that he was discharged on good terms. Verbal Jint, his Overclass crew mate, joined Brand New Music in June. San E's first top hit on the Gaon Digital Chart with the song "Story of Someone I Know" from the album 'Not' Based on the True Story. "Where Did You Sleep?" The singer's next three singles, "Where Did You Sleep," he says. (feat) "Break-Up Dinner" (feast, verbal Jint and Swings) is the product of verbal Jint and Swings). "What's Wrong With Me" (feat. Sanchez of Phantom) and "What's Wrong With Me" (feat. Kang Min Hee) and others have made it to the top ten of the Gaon Digital Chart. San E's success with the single "A Midsummer Night's Sweetness," a collaboration with Raina (of After School). The song was a big success straight away and debuted on top ten music charts just after its debut. The song went on to win awards at the Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards, the MelOn Music Awards, and the Seoul Music Awards last year. Despite its 19+ rating, his new song, "Body Language" (featuring Bumkey), was also a top hit, bing both the Gaon Digital Chart and seven Korean real-time music charts shortly after its introduction. San E was in Hyoyeon's single "Wannabe" in June 2017. San E was also the rap mentor for KBS2's The Unit, which was also the rap mentor.
Brand New Music cut San E's deal in late 2018 after the rapper made a string of inflammatory remarks regarding feminism.
FameUs Entertainment, a San E-based hip hop band, and recruited rappers Errday, Malkey, and Beo. On April 9, 2020, they released God FameUs, their first compilation album.
