Samantha Armytage (born 4 September 1976) is a television news presenter in Australia. In 2013, Armytage became a co-host of Sunrise alongside David Koch.
She has co-hosted Weekend Sunrise and appeared on Seven 4.30 News.
Early life
Armytage was introduced to Mac and Elizabeth Armytage. She grew up on Bolaro Station, a sheep property near Adaminaby, South Wales, where her father, who was the station manager, was born. Armytage is a direct descendant of George Armytage, a pioneer British settler in Australia who was involved in an attack on local Aboriginals. Charlie is her younger brother.
She attended boarding school at Kincoppal-Rose Bay in Sydney from Year Nine and then studied at Charles Sturt University.
Personal life
Armytage revealed in June 2020 that she would marry Richard Lavender, her partner. On December 31, 2020, the two were married in a private ceremony in the Southern Highlands. Armytage was a stepmother to Lavender's two children from his previous marriage.
Career
Armytage began her television work at WIN Television in Canberra in 1999 as a news reporter and host. She began working with Sky News Australia in 2002, where she was chief political reporter.
Armytage joined the Seven Network in 2003 after being identified by the network's administrators while covering the Canberra Bushfires in 2003.
Armytage's first major presenting job came in December 2004, filling-in as host on Seven News Sydney during the Summer non-ratings period. Following her non-ratings period, she had stints as host of Seven Morning News, the national late news bulletin, and as the presenter of Seven News Sydney. Armytage was a regular fill-in presenter for Chris Bath on Seven News Sydney between 2005 and 2006.
Armytage's Mike Amor, the presenter of Seven 4.30 News, was fired in October 2006. When the network upgraded production from Melbourne to Sydney, Rebecca Maddern had been swapped for host.
Armytage appeared on Dancing With The Stars in 2011 and went on to file reports for Sunday Night, as well as being a regular fill-in host on Sunrise, Today Tonight and The Morning Show.

Davis had been on the show to discuss her work with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, but later on Twitter, she expressed her dissatisfaction with Sunrise's focusing on her Sex and The City.
