Sachin Pilgaonkar Career

Career

Pilgaonkar began his film career as a child artist. He was supposed to appear in Madhavrao Shinde's 1961 film Soonbai, but the plans didn't work out. Ha Maza Marg Ekla, a Marathi film directed by Raja Paranjape, was then selected for his film Ha Maza Marg Ekla (transl). This is my own unique path (1962) at the age of four for which he was cited for the National Award. The award was given to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He appeared in the Dharmendra-Meena Kumari film Majhli Didi, directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, and later in popular films such as Jewel Thief, Chanda Aur Bijli, Brahmachari, and Mela as a child actor. He worked closely with Naeem Sayy (better known as Junior Mehmood), with whom he appeared in the Shammi Kapoor-starrer Brahmachari at the age of eight. They appeared in 15 films together as child actors.

For a brief period with Rajshri Productions' Geet Gaata Chal, for which he was cast opposite Sarika, he switched to lead roles. The film's unexpected success made them a lead pair on other films. Both students continued to work in Balika Badhu (1976), College Girl and Rajshri Productions', and Nadiya Ke Paar.

With Trishul, he returned to supporting roles and appeared in hit films such as Sholay, Avtaar, Sur Sangam, and Satte Pe Satta, but when the demand for roles slowed, he went back to supporting roles, making Marathi movies and releasing TV serials. He is one of Marathi film producers well-known. He supervised Prem Deewane in 1992 and Aisi Bhi Hai in 1996.

He produced and appeared in Jaana Pehchana, a sequel to Sachin's earlier blockbuster film Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se.

He appeared in the 2015 film Katyar Kaljat Ghusli, based on the same name, in which he appeared Khasaheb Hussain. When he was together working on the film Majhli Didi in 1966, he had to speak only Urdu, with which he was familiar thanks to his Meena Kumari's instruction in the language. Sanjeev Kumar also credits him with helping him with difficult scenes and the introduction of Hrishikesh Mukherjee in filmmaking.

Sachin, Laxmikant Berde, Ashok Saraf, and Mahesh Kothare, along with Laxmikant Berde, formed a successful quartet, appearing in many hit movies in Marathi cinema in the 1980s and 1990s.

Pilgaonkar turned to Indian television in the 1990s when he directed Tu Tu Main Main on Hindi National channel Star Plus, which starred his wife Supriya and Reema Lagoo. On the Hindi National channel DD Metro, he also filmed Rin 1 2 3 3, which used to feature parodies of Bollywood films. He also created Hadh Kar Di starring Dara Singh, which at the time was a hit, but it was eventually cancelled. In the meantime, he also anchored Hindi music shows such as Chalti Ka Naam Antakshari on Star Plus and other occasions as well as Marathi film award ceremonies. In 2006, he and his partner, Supriya, won the Hindi dance Reality Show Nach Baliye, earning Rs. 40,000. Approx. 4 million. Approx. I won $100,000 over nine other celebrity contestant pairs. He began a new program on Zee Marathi, which is based on dance, in late 2007. He discovered hidden talent in all of Maharashtra's departments.

On Colors TV, he appeared as a judge of a reality comedy talent show, Chhote Miyan (2009).

Pilgaonkar has also been directing Marathi films since the 1980s. He began directing with Mai Baap (1982), which received critical acclaim, but only with 1984's Navri Mile Navryala, which also starred his future wife, Supriya Pilgaonkar, that gained commercial success. Gammat Jammat (1987) and Maza Pati Karodpati (1988) both confirmed his place in the Marathi film industry. He loved major success in 1988's Ashi Hi Banwi, which starred himself and Marathi cinema's two reigning stars, Ashok Saraf and Laxmikant Berde. Sachin was a flop, establishing him as a hitmaker in the film. He then moved to experimental cinema with the next two films, but Aamchya Sarkhe Aamhich (1990), which was then yet another super hit, led to a comeback to comedy. In the 2018 film Ashi Hi Ashiqui, directed by Supriya Pilgaonkar, Berde's son Abinay Berde directed him.

Sachin wrote his autobiography in 2017 after the completion of 50 years of his film career, named Hach Maza Marg. Sachin wrote a ghazal titled "Badal jo ghir ke aaye" under the pseudonym of Shafaq for noted director Govind Nihalani's directorial debut in Marathi with the 2017 film Ti Ani Titar.

Sachin appeared in the film Amchi Mumbai Changali Mumbai, which was heavily mocked by his followers.
