Ryan S. Jhun Career

Background and career

Jhun was born in South Korea on February 28, 1979. At ten years old, he came to New York, where he first became involved in music. He auditioned for SM Entertainment for a boy band Shinhwa, but his parents discouraged him from doing so. He returned to South Korea later in the week to perform his demos, but only SM accepted his music. "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Bang" was Lee Hyori's album H-Logic (2010), his first "hands-on" song was "Lucifer" for Shinee for their album of the same name. Jhun is best known for his "crossover" musical style, with his set-up mixing elements from world music. Marcan Entertainment and Musikade co-founded songwriting and production companies, and he continues to work with Denzil Remedios, LDN Noise, and Dem Jointz.

Jhun is also the CEO of Ateam Entertainment, having joined in 2017 to produce for their boy band VAV. Bugaboo, his first girl group under Ateam, debuted in 2021.
