Ryan Higa Career

YouTube career

In mid-2006, Higa and Sean Fujiyoshi began posting YouTube videos of themselves lip syncing to music while attending Waiake High School. They soon grew beyond songs with a slew of other comedic works. Tim Enos, Ryan Villaruel, Kyle Chun, and Taryn Nago were among Occasional guest appearances.

Both of Higa and Fujiyoshi's most popular videos, How To Be Gangster and How To Be Emo, were deleted due to copyright abuses on Christmas Eve of 2008. The nigahiga account was temporarily suspended on January 21, 2009, and further copyrighted material was demanded to be deleted. Because of this, nigahiga's lip syncing videos were all deleted (with the exception of You're Beautiful, which was audio swapped), as well as the bulk of his other videos that featured copyrighted songs. Since then, Higa has been playing the music himself. On nigahiga's channel in late August 2009, how to be Gangster and How to Be Emo were both posted, but just a few days later, including how to be Ninja and how to be Nerd. In Spring 2010, Ninja's ways, how to be Gangster, and being Emo were all made public.

In August 2009, Ninja Melk, a 26-minute short film about ninjas, was released. The plot revolves around a ninja master named Master Ching Ching's tutor Lapchung (played by Bryson Murata)'s request to find a replacement, with Higa and Fujiyoshi catching the evil Bokchoy (Tim Enos) and his henchwoman Gina (Tarynn Nago).

Agents of Secret Stuff, a Wong Fu Productions-owned independent 35-minute film, was released on the nigahiga channel on November 24, 2010. It includes some of YouTube's most popular users as well as actors like Aki Aleong. A teen A.S. is the subject of the film. (Agent of Shadow Stuff) (Higa) is a student at a high school student who goes undercover to shield Taylor (Arden Cho) from the S.I.N.S. (Society Involving Not-So-Good Stuff) apologies (Society Involving Not-Social Stuff) It featured celebrity appearances from Ian and Anthony of Smosh, D-Trix, KassemG, and Hiimrawn.

Most of the nigahiga videos were solo efforts when Higa moved to Las Vegas to study college, with others on YouTube. Since 2012, Higa has formed Ryan Higa Production Company (RHPC), which also includes Sean Fujiyoshi, that produces content for the nigahiga channel. Higa's production firm was headquartered in Henderson, Nevada, in 2015.

Boys Generally Asian, a parody K-pop group formed by Higa and other YouTubers and friends in 2016. Fujiyoshi left the company in mid-2018 as a result of his relocation to Sacramento, California, to live with his new girlfriend and pursue his engineering degree.

Higa, Fujiyoshi, Enos, and Nago created the nigahiga YouTube channel on July 20, 2006 (known collectively as "The Yabo Crew")). By December 21, 2010, the first channel to do so had hit 3 million viewers. In the past, Higa had claimed that his channel name was derived from a combination of "Niga" (), which he had claimed means "rant" in Japanese, and his Okinawan last name, "Higa." However, he later revealed that his channel name was actually derived from a desire to encourage people to say their surname correctly. He expressed disappointment that this may have retaliated somewhat, but he has refused to update the channel name over the years to avoid the suggestion that the word was ever meant to promote the use of the racial insult that it has been likened to.

In 2011, he created HigaTV, where he broadcasts video blogs and behind the scenes videos.

In 2012, Higa joined the YOMYOMF Network, which hosts the online video-making talent competition, Internet Icon, in which he served alongside Christine Lakin and Timothy DeLaGhetto as chief judges.

Where are the original stars of YouTube now?

www.dailymail.co.uk, July 15, 2023
Since its inception in 2005, YouTube has been a staple of modern culture, with scores of early adopters able to carve out a niche for themselves. Everyday people became stars by delivering original content from entertaining comedy skits to step-by-step makeup tutorials. However, the website is not without its dark side, which is supposed to be revealed in the forthcoming launch The YouTube Effect. The 'eye-opening documentary' is expected to take a 'troubling look' at the video sharing platform and the way it'changed how we experience the world.' And it is true that some of YouTube's most popular early celebrities had varied lives. There were others who were able to bring multi-million dollar company empires and even success in the music industry when they were able to capitalize on their springboards. However, there were others whose fame came at a price after being plagued with depression, bullying, and accusations of bigotry. FEMAIL has shared what happened to some of America's top YouTube stars as viewers prepare to tune into the tell-all series.
