Ryan Bingham Life

Ryan Bingham (born George Ryan Bingham on March 31, 1981) is an American singer-songwriter whose music spans many genres.

Bingham has released six studio albums and one live album as of 2019, the last four of which were released under his own name, Axster Bingham Records, from Hobbs, New Mexico.

He started riding his own at an early age and joined the rodeo circuit as a bull rider in his teens.

At the age of 16, Bingham learned guitars, mainly from rodeos for his friends.

He began working in tiny bars and honky tonks around the West, eventually landing him in Los Angeles, California.

After receiving critical acclaim for his first two studio releases on Lost Highway Records (UMG) in 2007, 2007's Mescalito and 2009's Roadhouse Sun, Bingham went on to collaborate with Grammy-winning producer T Bone Burnett on the soundtrack to the 2009 acclaimed film Crazy Heart, including co-writing and performing the film's award-winning theme song "The Weary Kind."

The title track received an Academy Award, the Golden Globe Award, and Critics' Choice Award for "Best Song" in 2010, as well as a Grammy Award for "Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television, or Other Visual Media" in 2011.

In 2010, Bingham was named "Artist of the Year" on the American Music Association's most coveted award as "Artist of the Year."

The March For Our Lives students who were dealing with grown men and women questioning their credibility on social media were inspired in part by the song "Wolves."

The song was also on the hit TV show Yellowstone.

In April 2019, Bingham performed "Wolves" as the series's lead, Walker, whom he plays on the show, and he founded The Western, his own music festival.

In Luckenbach, Texas, the inaugural festival lasted for two days.

Early life

In Hobbs, New Mexico, Bingham was born. His family moved to the Midland–Odessa area of West Texas before heading to Houston. He attended Westfield High School in Houston mainly.

When he was 16 years old, Bingham's mother bought his first guitar. Despite being captivated by music, he left his guitar dormant in his closet. About a year ago, Bingham returned west to Lahor, Texas, in the hopes of finding a job with his father, carrying the guitar with him. Bingham's father loved having neighbors over to drink beer, and one of them taught him a traditional Mariachi song called "La Mala" in segments. Despite loving playing the music, it was the only one he'd learnt during his time in Laos.

He migrated to Stephenville, Texas. While riding on the rodeo team at Tarleton State University, he began learning more music. In a trailer house, it was likely that he would write "Southside Of Heaven," perhaps his most well-known hit. He also began to play local gigs, namely at a local golf course and a few small bars.

While Bingham was in Stephenville, France, a friend of a friend who discovered a job in Paris, France, was involved in the Disney Resort's Wild West Exhibition. With $100 in his wallet, he bought a one-way ticket. On his arrival, he was informed that the boss, with whom he had a mutual acquaintance, was no longer with the firm, and he was left stranded with his guitar and a worn out rigging bag from his rodeo days. Fortunately, he found some friends-of-friends within the Disney service and began playing music in local parks for tips.

He eventually saved enough money to return to Texas and moved into a rodeo buddy near Fort Worth. He knew his brother (Matthew "Papa" Smith) who cut hair during the day and played drums as a pastime. He and Papa will continue to be the founding members of Ryan Bingham and the Dead Horses after an introduction and impromptu gig in a bare bar in Fort Worth. One of the few people in the bar that night was Marc Ford of the Black Crows. After the show, he approached Bingham with a plea for a record.

Personal life

Ryan's mother drank herself to death, and his father committed suicide. The "Never Far Behind" on Bingham's "Todayland album is about his parents.

He and his wife were expecting their first child in the summer of 2015. Fear and Saturday Night's song "Broken Heart Tattoo" by Bingham is a reflection on what he'd like to say to his unborn child.

After 12 years of marriage, Bingham filed for divorce from Anna Axster, Bingham's wife, on June 29, 2021. In September 2021, it was revealed that the couple's former Topanga Canyon home was sold for $2.45 million. The house was originally purchased by the couple in 2013 for $1.36 million. Bingham and Axster are three children together.
