Rosie Mercado (born March 28, 1980) is an American plus-size model, celebrity makeup artist, fashion designer, and television presenter of Mexican descent.

She is best known for her role in NuvoTV's Curvy Girls and appearance on National Geographic Channel's Taboo.

She is now a special correspondent and life coach on Emmy Award-winning programs The Doctors and Dr. She is currently a special correspondent and life coach.

Face The Truth on Fox features Phil and now a co-host.

Early life

Mercado was born in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in Riverside, California, but she spent the majority of her life in Las Vegas, Nevada, as her parents' business relocated there.

Mercado is of Latino descent; her parents are from Mexico and Zacatecas; Her parents own a Las Vegas company, and she comes from an entrepreneurial background. "A visionary in all the companies he has created," Mercado says of her father. Mercado's parents have always been involved in her life and work.

She graduated from Bishop Gorman High School and left in 1999. She was one of five Latinos attending the private school. She was a 'tomboy' in high school, and felt she did not fit in due to her height (which has led her to encourage plus-size diversity in the entertainment industry). She was branded "the girl with the pretty face and the big ass" or "the girl with the pretty face and the big ass," and she was mocked for her height. At the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Mercado studied Business Administration.

Since being young, Mercado had aspired to work in fashion, but she was plagued by her weight problems. Jennifer Lopez and Queen Latifah are both admiring her.

Personal life

Mercado lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Los Angeles, California. She is a single mother of three children, a daughter (born 2000), and two sons (born 2006 and 2007).

Mercado obtained his degree from Tony Robbins Mastery University in 2013. She promotes body positivity and inspires women to embrace their authentic appearance, self-love, and acceptance in March 2020.

Modeling career

Mercado entered the fashion industry within four years. She began modeling as a photographer, but she was attempting to expand her company but didn't have the funds to recruit professional models. She had a beautiful face and that she should be modeling, according to a celebrity photographer. She had taken photographs of herself, but was often turned down due to her height. Many times, fashion industry people adored her image in her portfolio, but then became alarmed after seeing her in person due to her height, and she was advised that if she lost weight, she would have more work.

Media career

Mercado first began working in Las Vegas as a late morning host at the age of 15. She then went to work for Telemundo and Univision, doing red carpet interviews with Latino celebrities. She did voiceover for English and Spanish national and international companies.

Mercado debuted on national Geographic Channel's Taboo in 2011. She has appeared on national and international television from Telemundo and Univision, as well as being a special correspondent for CBS' Dr. Phil and The Doctors. She is ranked as one of Latina Magazine and Univsion's top-followers. She appeared in season one and two of NuvoTV's reality television show Curvy Girls in 2012 and 2013, which portrayed the everyday life of four plus-size models as they pursued their fashion aspirations. She appeared on The Ricki Lake Show in June 2013 and spoke about plus-size swim styles. She is a co-host on a talk show hosted by Dr.Phil and has her book Coming out in 2019 with publishing company Harper Collins One.
