Rosemary Barton Career

Early career

Barton, a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, began working in journalism as a reporter for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's French-language news network RDI before being appointed as a National Assembly of Quebec correspondent for Global News. She returned to the CBC in 2004, first in the same capacity as a provincial political reporter before heading to the national Parliament Hill bureau in 2007.

She debuted on Power & Politics in 2011 as the program's main substitute host.
