Early life
Sánchez was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and is the youngest of four siblings with three older brothers. She received her primary education in San Juan. She expressed an interest in both dancing and acting, and she would host family shows. Sánchez studied marketing at the University of Puerto Rico, where she father and brothers were also enrolled in the program. However, she stayed in the program for three years. Sánchez moved to New York City in 1991, where she took lessons in dancing, acting, and singing. She returned to Puerto Rico and made her film debut in 1992, playing a small part as an island girl in Captain Ron, a Puerto Rican film.
Personal life
Sanchez was married to English actor, former boxer, and former model Gary Stretch from August 9, 1998 to April 15, 2001. She began a relationship with Puerto Rican salsa singer Vctor Manuelle following her divorce. She revealed that she had ended their relationship in December 2005.
Sanchez and actor Eric Winter became engaged after two years of dating, and they married in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on November 29. They have two children together, Sebella (born January 2012), and Dylan (born November 2017).
Sánchez is the spokesperson for the Fundación de Nios San Jorge, which supports sick children from poor families.
Career
Sánchez gained notoriety in Puerto Rico as both a dancer and as co-host of a variety show named Qué Vacilón. Sánchez won the Miss Puerto Rico Petite contest in 1993, and she gained the Miss American Petite award in 1994, bringing her international recognition. Sánchez has been featured on numerous annual lists of beautiful women, including Maxim Magazine's "Hot 100" in 2001, 2002, and 2006; AskMen.com's "Top 99 Most Desirable Women" in 2005 and 2006; and FHM's "100 Sexiest Women" in 2005 and 2006.
Isabella Molina, an undercover United States Secret Service agent who was Jackie Chan's love interest in the hit film Rush Hour 2, was cast in 2001. Sánchez made a guest appearance on TNT's Rizzoli & Isles in 2011, portraying villainous lawyer Valerie Delgado.
