Early life
Conaty was born in Camden, London. Both her parents were from Ireland but they met in London. Her father, who was born in Virginia, worked for Aer Lingus, and her mother, from Dromcolliher, County Limerick, was a nurse. Conaty and her younger sister, Siobhan, grew up in Camden and spent summers in Ireland, in County Kerry and County Cork. She studied film at Middlesex University and worked in various corporate positions before embarking on her comedy career at the age of 24.
Life and stand-up
Conaty received the Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Festival in 2010 for her performance Hero, Warrior, Fireman, Liar. In April 2011, she appeared at the Melbourne Comedy Festival for the first time. She continued to appear on Lifehunter in 2013.
