Santo August Career

Life and career

Lakeisha Gamble, one of Mindless Behavior's founding members, convinced Walter Millsap's future producer, Walter Millsap, to form an American boy band. In the film Mindless Behavior: All Around the World, he was opposed to the idea at first. Millsap is the creator of Conjunction Entertainment Inc., and she has worked with Beyonce, Alicia Keys, and Jennifer Lopez. Streamline Records founder Vincent Herbert, who agreed on the idea of forming a boy band alongside Gamble and Millsap, was amongst others who discussed the possibility of forming a boy band. Gamble, Millsap, Herbert, composer Candice Nelson, and choreographer David Scott held open auditions in California in the hopes of finding local boys that would fit the group's criteria. Gamble, August's cousin, compelled her to bring him to the auditions. He was unaware of the group auditions and was scheduled to attend football practice the day before. Rather, his mother begged him to dress in his football uniform, deceive him. He had to recall choreography that was not provided by Dave Scott for the auditions. He performed them backwards, and was a terrible dancer. Gamble, on the other hand, adored his personality and believed he could grow overtime, much to Millsap's dismay. He missed out on football tryouts, but he was the second member of Mindless Behavior, behind Princeton's.

Due to his demeanor, August was given the stage name Roc Royal by Gamble. The word "rock" was used as an alternative spelling for the word "rock," revealing his tenacious side. However, "Royal" was supposed to show his younger, sweet side. Prosecutors, Jr., and Ray Ray (Rayan Lopez) arrived shortly after Princeton and August, respectively. They embedded themselves in music for the next two years, creating their musical tone and style under Herbert and Millsap's direction. They fell in with their boss, Gamble, and began regularly rehearing dance routines, changing their diets, and getting to know one another. Tiffany Larkin, the group's mother, said the move was extremely difficult for the mothers. They weren't able to see their children as much as they wanted to. However, when their bosses felt they were ready, they set up a showcase for various brands. Kenneth Crear, a prolific entrepreneur and music manager, was the last performer for Management Group International. Crear was very keen on joining the organization straight away. They stayed in development, but they also started working on original music right away. They put on shows at local schools on the CLASSCFIED High School Tour, improving their performance repertoire. They gained fans and respect, as well as their YouTube channel, which featured their innovative "MB Cam" and Ustream account. Interscope Records chairman Jimmy Iovine added Mindless Behavior to the brand shortly after.

Mindless Behavior toured with several well-known musicians, such as The Backstreet Boys, Jason Derulo, Justin Bieber, and Janet Jackson, the opening act on her Number Ones, Up Close and Personal tour, before lining their own tours. The group had risen from being on BET's 106 & Park to my first BET Closer to My Dreams Tour with Diggy Simmons, Lil Twist, Trevante, and Jawan Harris. Mindless Behavior co-founded the Scream Tour in 2011, starring The OMG Girlz, Jacob Latimore, and Hamilton Park. The group has appeared at the White House twice before becoming the first African American boy band to do so. They also appeared at the prestigious White House Easter Egg Roll in 2011. They appeared on Arthur Ashe Kids' Day in 2012. In 2013, the group worked for Wade's World Foundation, a charity run by Dwyane Wade that supports community-based organizations that promote education, health, and social skills for children in at-risk situations. They were also invited back to the White House to perform at the Kids Inaugural Ball.

The group unveiled their first US tour in July 2012. The tour was released under the same name as their debut album. The No. 6 is the No. 1. Artists Jacob Latimore, Lil Twist, and Kayla Brianna opened the 1 Girl Tour with opening acts. The group spent a few days in Georgia visiting the Ronald McDonald House to support some of the young patients who were fighting cancer. The group began in 2013 on their All Around The World Tour. Mindless Behavior, Princeton's former bandmates Roc Royal, Ray Ray, and Prodigy, have recorded two albums, performed on tour, and sold over 327,000 albums in the United States. Many media outlets announced later this year that a new member would be hired after the organization's lead singer, Craig Crippen Jr., who was known as Prosperity, had left the company. Mindless Behavior did not reveal any information after lead singer Prospery left the band. In several interviews, there had only been Princeton, Roc Royal, and Ray Ray, which meant there was no lead singer introduced. Mindless Behavior performed in interviews and even held shows for their followers, but without a lead singer. However, several of these shows featured nothing more than the band's dancing routines, although Prosecu's voice was prominent. In April 2014, Elijah Johnson was hired as the lead singer.

Mindless Behavior was omitted from Interscope's roster after this hiatus and signed an Epic Records contract.

August was caught beating a man on video in July 2014, and he posted the video on his personal Instagram page. Despite the fact that he took down the video from his website, thousands of people watched it later on YouTube and shared by thousands. A shirtless August strolls over to a man who is kneeling over a bicycle and brussly punches him multiple times, ending with a smack of the head. According to friends and relatives, the man had funds that was due to be paid to August, but no specific amount of debt was specified. "I'm just a lil one out here on my own, no mom because she keep taking from me and no father because he wasn't around when all this happened." You guys will only know half of my story; not what's on screen and definitely not behind scenes. Well, sorry for my misdeeds, I reacted so quickly because the fact that I gave him a past [sic] many times, and every single time there was an excuse. If you said a specific day and time for your money than I want my stuff," it frustrates me waiting for someone else's time to get what they promised.

August was tagged as the principal suspect after BMW 325i of producer Chris Clark went missing while on a studio session with Santo four months later. Clark had left the keys on a table in the studio, but the keys – and August – were missing as he left. Clark was arrested after August's refusal to cooperate, resulting in Clark's arrest. Mindless Behavior was announced by August, a month later, on his Twitter account.

August, a year after being barred from the company, began working as a rapper/singer. He is currently signed to 319 Music Group & Films, an entertainment company headquartered in Inglewood, California. In February, he appeared on "Number," a Courtlend track that featured SJ3 and August, who went under the alias "DoubleR" in the name. He discarded both the stage name Roc Royal and DoubleR shortly after and began referring to himself as a shortened version of his name – "Santo" August. "Amazing" was his first solo single since being released from Mindless Behavior, a hip-hop pop song. Amazing was widely adopted by fans of the organisation, with over 1.5 million plays on his SoundCloud page. The single's video was released in July 2015 and has over 600,000 views on YouTube and 90,000 views on Vevo. "No Limits," his second single, was released in August. "SantoAugustTV," his YouTube channel, featured interviews that he attended and performances that he attended on YouTube.

August was arrested and charged with both robbery and battery in February 2016. He accepted a two-year prison term in April and started serving his term in July. However, he will be eligible for promotion in spring 2017 for good conduct, which he has since maintained. According to a cousin of August, he should have been released in May 2017. August himself appeared on Instagram Live, chatting with followers about his personal life, and posted a picture of himself with the hashtag "comingsoon."

A few of his songs were released while in jail, but a few of his songs were not released. In March 2016, "I'm the Plug" and "I Choose Her" were released, and "I Choose Her" and "I Choose Her" were released. Since he is out of jail, August is scheduled to get a grant.
