Robert Sosebee Woods (born March 13, 1948) is an American actor best known for his role as Bo Buchanan on ABC's One Life to Live, for which he received the 1983 Daytime Emmy Award for Lead Actor.
Early life
Woods graduated from Lakewood High School in Lakewood, California, where he served as the senior class president and a cheerleader. He later served with the United States Armed Forces and served in the Vietnam War. Woods obtained his degree from California State University, Long Beach, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
Personal life
Woods is married to actress Loyita Chapel and lives in New York. Tanner Woods, the couple's son, appeared on One Life to Live in a flashback to 1968, is the son of Tanner Woods, who played a young Bo on One Life to Live in a flashback to 1968. Tanner was a twin whose sibling died at the age of one month.
Woods was a good friend of on-screen father Phil Carey.
Career
On ABC soap One Life to Live in 1979, Woods began portraying Bo Buchanan – a Vietnam War soldier, receiving a Daytime Emmy Award for Lead Actor. He appeared on television in 1986 and 1988 and then resurfaced 1988 and played his role until the show's cancellation in 2012. Woods has received Daytime Emmy Awards in 1986, 1993, 1994, 1999, and 2000, as well as four Soap Opera Digest Award nominations, as well as four Soap Opera News trophies.
Woods has appeared on television shows such as Roseanne and the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives. He appeared in eight episodes of The Waltons, four of whom were named "Robert Merritt Woods" and four others as "Christopher Woods."
