Robert Joseph Pastorelli (June 21, 1954 – March 8, 2004) was an American actor. Pastorelli's career fell backwards after his girlfriend's death in 1999 under unethical circumstances at his home.

In 2004, he died as a result of a drug overdose.

Early life

Pastorelli was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, the son of Ledo ("Tally") Pastorelli (1918–2008), an insurance salesman and Dorothy ("Dottie"), an artist. Gwen Pastorelli, his sister, is an opera performer and a real estate agent.

He spent his childhood years in Edison, New Jersey, after graduating from Edison High School in 1972. He aspired to work as a professional boxer, but he had to leave the sport due to injuries suffered in a near-fatal high-speed car accident and that he had experienced himself falling from above on his body in the hospital bed with his father (who later reported that he had been devastated). He had an opioid use in his early teens before his acting career, but he would relapse throughout his later years.

Gianna Li Pastorelli (born February 6, 1998), and Giannina Marie Pastorelli (born March 6, 2000), both married to then-girlfriend Jalee Carder, and Pastorelli, who died on March 6, 2000.

Theater career

After attending the New York Academy of Theatrical Arts and the Actors Studio, he began performing as a bartender in the late 1970s. He made his stage debut in a 1977 revival of Rebel Without a Cause. In addition to acting in The Rainmaker and The Death of a Salesman, he appeared in productions. In 2002, he appeared in A Streetcar Named Desire in London later in his career.
