In 2004, Hoffman starred in the film You Got Served as Max, a lead dancer in the antagonist's crew. He also starred in Nick Cannon's sketch comedy television series Wild 'n Out. In 2006, he co-starred alongside Amanda Bynes in the film She's the Man.

In 2007, Hoffman played the role of Bluto in the horror film Shrooms. He also played the role of Clyde "Windmill" Wynorski in the comedy film National Lampoon's Bag Boy. A Massachusetts woman was arrested and charged after she sparked swarms of 'extremely aggressive' bees on sheriff's deputies attempting to carry out an eviction order at a friend's house. On October 12, Rorie Susan Woods, 55, sped up to her Massachusetts home with bee containers on top of the truck. Woods attempted to agitate the bees by throwing them off the wagon to make them more mobile. In an attempt to postpone the demolition, she carried a hive to the door of the house. According to authorities, one officer was hospitalized but then recovered.
