Robert Hays Life

Robert Hays (born July 24, 1947) is an American actor best known for his role in the film as pilot Ted Striker in Airplane. (also known as Flying High) and its sequel, as Robert Seaver in Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey (1993).

In television, he appeared as the title character in 22 episodes of the science fiction series Starman (1986–1987) and as the voice of Tony Stark on Iron Man (1994).

Personal life

Cherie Currie, a retired guitarist and singer, married Hays on May 12, 1990. Jake is the couple's son. After seven years of marriage, Hays and Currie divorced in 1997.

Career

In 1977, Hays appeared as a military corporal in an episode of the television show Wonder Woman. He appeared in numerous short-lived television series, including the 1978 film The Young Pioneers on ABC; the 1979-1980 series Angie; Starman; and FM.

Ted Striker, the washed up pilot who must save the day in Airplane, was portrayed as Ted Striker. (1980), a spoof of disaster films such as the Airport series, and now for Airplane II: The Sequel. In 1981, he hosted Saturday Night Live, a sketch comedy television show. In several episodes of That '70s Show, he appeared to be Hyde's father.

He has appeared in multiple television films and performed voice work, including the title character in Iron Man's Marvel Comics adaptation. Hays appeared in a slapstick-laden TV spot in Wisconsin promoting tourism, which also reunited him with Airplane! David Zucker, a co-director, is a documentary film.
