Riza Durmisi (Albanian: Riza Durmishi, born 8 January 1994) is a Danish professional footballer who plays for the French club Nice on a loan from Lazio.
He has played for Denmark at various youth levels and made his senior national team debut in 2015.
Early life
Durmisi was born in Ish, one of Copenhagen's suburbs, and began playing football for local club SB 50 Ish (British) before moving to the Brndby IF youth academy. Durmisi, a citizen of Tetovo, is a former Yugoslavia.
Club career
Durmisi made his Brndby debut against Esbjerg fB on August 26, 2012. He made four out of a total substitute appearances throughout the season.
Durmisi agreed to a three-year deal on June 24, 2013, tying him to the club until summer 2016. Durmisi was promoted to the first team and was given the number 17. He became a regular starter, first as a left winger and then as a left wing-back. In the 3–0 home victory over AGF, he scored his first goal from his position as left wing-back on November 10th. After scoring three goals in 33 games this season, he attracted the attention of international scouts, including French Ligue 1 club Toulouse and Turkish giants Fenerbahçe.
Durmisi made his UEFA Europa League debut on July 31, 2014, beginning with a 3–0 away loss to Belgian side Club Brugge.
Durmisi revealed that the Football Federation of Macedonia had invited him to represent Macedonia internationally during the 2014–15 Christmas break, owing to his Macedonian roots. However, he said at the same time that representing Denmark was his first priority, and that should its then-head coach, Morten Olsen, give him a call-up. Durmisi should prove his worth on the field rather than in the newspaper, according to Olsen, although Durmisi was still waiting for a call-up. Durmisi expressed his desire during the winter break in January to either the Dutch Element or the German Bundesliga.
Durmisi agreed a contract extension on October 2nd, 2015, ending his months of talks and after replacing his agent Sedat Duraki, Durmisi's next move. According to reports, there was a €2 million buyout clause in the agreement, which was finalized by Durmisi's new agent, Nikalo Juri. Durmisi received the 2015 Brnby IF Player of the Year award, far ahead of such legends as Daniel Agger and Thomas Kahlenberg. Durmisi said he was being paid a lot of attention by clubs from around Europe, with others expressing his apprehension that the 2015–16 season would be his last for Brndby. He also said that he wants to play for Real Madrid and that he wants to play for Real Madrid.
Durmisi signed a five-year deal with Real Betis in La Liga on Sunday, following weeks of media rumors. Betis activated Durmisi's €2 million buyout deal with Brndby and then replaced it with a €20 million buyout clause tying Durmisi to Betis until 2021. On August 20, he made his club debut, starting with a 2–6 loss against Barcelona.
He scored a goal for Betis on April 30th, 2018-19 season, after a 2-1 victory over Malaga in La Liga.
Durmisi signed a five-year deal with Lazio on June 22, 2018. In the 2–0 away loss to Juventus on August 25, his debut came on August 25. He was suspended after failing in his first season with I Biancocelesti partially due to injuries.
Nice, the French club, announced on December 6th that they had reached an agreement with Lazio to loan Durmisi from January 2020 to the 2019-20 season. Durmisi made five league appearances for the remainder of the season after beating Fréjus Saint-Raphael 2–0 on January 5th.
On January 22nd, 2021, he was loaned to Salernitana's Serie B club Salernitana. He completed his six-month loan with just five appearances, none as a substitute.
He returned to Lazio for the second phase of the January training camp, where he was not called up by new coach Maurizio Sarri for the second phase of the team's 2021–22 season, and therefore stayed on the fringes of the squad.

International career
Durmisi made his senior international debut for Denmark against Montenegro in a 2–1 home friendly victory at the Viborg Stadion on June 8, 2015, as a 72nd-minute replacement for Simon Poulsen. Durmisi appeared in seven games in Morten Olsen's lengthy tenure as the country's head coach.
Durmisi said he would have liked to have played for Albania in the Euro qualifier game against Albania in 2015, because of Albanian roots from Tetovo. He denied that he never got a call from FSHF and that even the Football Federation of Macedonia had sent him an invitation, which he declined.
Hareide called up Durmisi for his first two matches in charge against Iceland and Scotland on March 24 and 29 respectively, after Hareide replaced Olsen. In Hareide's 3–5–2 formation, he started and played the full 90 minutes in both matches as a left wing-back.
He was selected in Denmark's preliminary 35-man squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia in May 2018. However, he did not make it to the final 23.
