Ritu Phogat (born 2 May 1994) is an Indian female wrestler and mixed martial artist who earned a gold medal at the 2016 Commonwealth Wrestling Championship.
Early and personal life
Ritu is Mahavir Singh Phogat's third daughter who began training under her father at the age of eight.
Geeta Phogata Kumari, as well as cousin Vinesh Phogat, are among the Commonwealth Games gold medalists in wrestling. Priyanka Phogata Phogat, her cousin, is also a world champion wrestler.
Wrestling career
Phogat captured her second straight title at the National Wrestling Championships in October 2016. In November 2016, she received the gold medal at the 2016 Commonwealth Wrestling Championship in Singapore in the 48 kg class.
She was the most expensive female wrestler at the Pro Wrestling League auction in December 2016, bagging a 36 lakh INR deal with the Jaipur Ninjas brand.
She took silver in the 48kg category in the World U-23 Wrestling Championships in Bydgosc, Poland, in November 2017. This is India's first silver medal in the competition.
Mixed martial arts career
Phogat made her mixed martial arts debut in February 2019 when she partnered with ONE Championship in February 2019.

In a quarterfinal bout of the 2021 ONE Women's Atomweight Grand Prix in Empower, Phogat was supposed to meet Meng Bo. In what was supposed to be a warm-up match, she faced Bi Nguyen instead.
