Richard James Biggs II (March 18, 1960 – May 22, 2004) was an American television and stage actor best known for his appearances on the television series Days of Our Lives and Babylon 5.
Early life
Biggs, a native of Columbus, Ohio, studied drama at the University of Southern California on scholarship. He worked at a Los Angeles high school for a short time before landing his first major television role, as Dr. Marcus Hunter on the soap opera Days of Our Lives.
When he was 13, Biggs was diagnosed with hearing loss, but he was partially deaf in one ear and completely deaf in the other. He regularly raised funds for the Aliso Academy, a private school in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, that serves deaf children.

Lori Gebers was married on August 1, 1998. Richard James III and Hunter Lee were their two children.
Career
Biggs appeared on the soap opera Days of Our Lives from 1987 to 1994.
He appeared on Babylon 5 (1994–1998) as Dr. Stephen Franklin, reprising his role in the last aired episode of the spin-off show, Crusade ("Each Night I Dream of Home").
He appeared on Any Day Now and Strong Medicine, as well as the recurring role of Clayton Boudreaux on the soap opera Guiding Light, as well as the recurring role of Clayton Boudreaux on Guiding Light after Babylon 5.
The Tempest, Cymbeline, and The Taming of the Shrew are among Biggs' stage credits.
He appeared on the television show Strong Medicine at the time of his death; following his death, his character was destroyed in an off-screen traffic crash. On Tremors: The Series, he also appeared as a visiting scientist. Biggs' last film appearance was in We Interrupt This Program, a short film that also stars Biggs' Babylon 5 costar Bruce Boxleitner, released as a companion to the 2004 version of Dawn of the Dead on DVD. His last television appearance on "The Gary Grill," the Nickelodeon series Drake & Josh, portrayed an FBI agent, which was dedicated to his memory. He only received one award in his career.
