Personal life

Burchmore was born in Sydney and attended Beverly Hills Girls High School. She received a fellowship to the University of New England, where she concentrated in Theatre Arts. Lexie is Burchmore's first daughter and her partner, Nick, a psychiatrist, and they have one daughter. Career

In the 1982 film The Pirate Film, Burchmore appeared as Kate. In 1988's production of Sugar Babies opposite Garry McDonald and Broadway actor Eddie Bracken, Burchmore gave her first Australian theatre appearance. She appeared in the West End production of Sugar Babies opposite Mickey Rooney and Ann Miller later this year. Burchmore played in the revival of Stop the World – I Want to Get Off, as well as a role in Hot Shoe Shuffle, although in the United Kingdom.

Burchmore opened Crown Casino in Melbourne, 1996, starring Red Hot & Rhonda.

In Tommy Tune's stage version of Irving Berlin's Easter Parade, Burchmore appeared as Nadine Hale, but the venture was shelved. Burchmore appeared in another production, Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods, with the Melbourne Theatre Company (MTC).

She appeared in Trevor Ashley's musical comedy Little Orphanage with Gary Sweet in 2013.

The Drowsy Chaperone in 2010, with Geoffrey Rush for the MTC, Song, and Dance, They're Playing Our Song, as one of the alter egos, and Diana in Lend Me a Tenor are among the Australian stage credits. In Ruddigore and An Evening with Sondheim, Victoria Burchmore appeared as Queen of the Fairies in Iolanthe, as Prince Orlofsky with Joan Carden as Prince Orlofsky.

Burchmore's television credits include regular appearances on Carols by Candlelight, on the variety show Hey Hey It's Saturday, quiz show Spicks and Specks, and also guest appearances in the sitcom Kath & Kim and the TV series Love Child.

In 2019, Burchmore had been cast in the role of Grandma Viv in the new Seven Network sitcom Fam Time.
