Reza Rahadian Career

Career

He was crowned Top Model, an award for models by the Indonesian variety magazine Aneka in 2004, but he wasn't a professional model. Rather, he viewed modeling as a way to help him become an actor. Rahadian was cast in several sinetron (Indonesian soap operas), including Culunnya Pacarku and Idola, thanks to the coverage he received from his modelling career. He made his film debut in 2007 with the horror-comedy Film Horor; the following year, he appeared in another horror film, Ghost Island 2.

Rahadian appeared in Hanung Bramantyo's Woman with a Turban in 2009, becoming a little weary of acting in horror films. Despite having originally written for a teenage character, Bramantyo selected Rahadian for a bigger role – in Samsuddin, the main character Anissa (Revalina S. Temat)'s devoted, polygamous husband. He appeared in four other films this year, including three comedies.

Rahadian appeared in four films over the next year, including 3 Hati Dua Dunia, Satu Cinta, and How Funny (This Country Is). At the 2010 Indonesian Film Festival, the former film, which was focused on interfaith romance, received a Citra Award for Best Film, while the latter was Indonesia's nomination to the 83rd Academy Awards.

Rahadian appeared in four films in 2011. In Kamila Andini's debut The Mirror Never Lies, a dolphin specialist, had to learn about dolphins at Ancol in North Jakarta. Sebelah, A Side), a short film that he directed aside from acting.

In 2012, Rahadian appeared in six films. He lost 10 kilograms (22 lb) to prepare for his role in BrokenHearts, in which he appeared as an anorexic. Later, he appeared in Perahu Kertas and its sequel, which was based on Dewi Lestari's book of the same name; Rahadian played Remi, a businessman who plays the lead character. Niken Prathivi, a writer for The Jakarta Post, discovered that Rahadian had performed as expected, highlighting a mental conflict between love and business.

Rahadian played former President B.J. at the end of 2012. Habibie is a film about Habibie & Ainun, which followed Habibie's love with his future wife Ainun (played by Bunga Citra Lestari). Rahadian had a "lawless" representation of the former president and his mannerisms, according to Prathivi in a review.

Reza and Adinia Wirasti reunited as a couple in Critical Eleven in 2017.
